After the peaceful arrest of a Cadillac-area man, authorities who searched his 40-acre compound discovered a stunning collection of firepower, including an anti-aircraft gun capable of firing 550 rounds per minute up to four miles away.

A van and a Jeep Cherokee, described by the suspect as his "war wagons," had machine guns inside, with one "locked, loaded and ready to go," Assistant U.S. Attorney Lloyd Meyer said.

Agents found an underground bunker, thousands of rounds of ammunition, hundreds of pounds of gunpowder and manuals on guerrilla warfare, "booby traps" and explosives.

There were chilling pictures of President Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld with the cross-hairs of a high-powered rifle scope drawn over them, Meyer said.

The guy wanted to ambush law enforcement officers and his friends feared he wanted to kill innocent people. Just what about this guy do you find defensible?

6. Remember That Law Enforcement Will Defend the Status Quo

And care not one wit about your personal suffering.

Go back and study the Great Depression and see how many farmers were kicked off their land by the local sheriff at the behest of bankers.

7. Oh, that's perfect

And shows an ignorance about the role of law enforcement in a civil society. Courts are where greivances are settled in America. Because the law requires law enforcement officers to sometime carry aout an order that is utlimately deemed to be unjust, they should be fare game for murder. Geez. Think this through. Do you want to live in a world with no police?

10. You Don't Seem To Understand, Under Ashcroft

We are already one step away from fascism.

Have you read the Patriot Act?

Have you read drafts of Patriot Act II?

When Ashcroft toured recently trying to sell Patriot Act I, he only spoke before TV media for fear that print media would spill the beans.

Under fascism, Ashcroft will mobilize all available law enforcement to support a modern brown shirt brigade.

Go read your history about Hitler and the Third Reich.

Anybody want to wager a guess on who PRINTED those books? I've got $10 that says they were FMs printed by the Federal Government...anybody want to bet on it?

It's fine for the Government to have the books, but if people have them who are not in government service any more, they're somehow "ominous".

I'd hate to see what the papers would say if they raided MY house...They'd probably go on about my "Nazi literature"...the Time-Life WWII series, which does prominently feature pictures of people like Hitler in it...

people being so afraid of drugs for the past 40 years that they allowed cops all sorts of powers they didn't have before the 60s.
