Poll question: Who do NON-Vocal DU’ers Support?

I’m sure this is the umpteenth poll on Presidential candidates, but I’m hoping to draw out the opinions of the silent types. Dean, Clark, Kerry, Kucinich, and the rest all have their very vocal supporters, and bravo for those folks. Full disclosure: I lean toward Howard Dean, but I mostly stay out of the fray when it comes to candidate comparisons.

I suspect that lots of other folks do the same, wanting to keep their powder dry for the time being. I’m hoping to get a better idea of who everyone is supporting, even if you don’t have a candidate’s avatar next to your name. So, strident supporters of your various candidates, please chime in. But I especially want to appeal to those who don’t say much on the subject. Please let me know who your candidate of the moment is. Thanks.

But from what I've read, I like Kucinich, but I don't know if he can beat Bush.

I wish the Canadian electorate could vote in our elections. It might solve lots of problems.

2. I am leaning towards Dean

but I am still undecided. I am having trouble because there are some really great ideals in a few of these candidates. Dean has really tapped into my disgust with this administration. I am really fond of Clark but am having a hard time reconciling his support for the thugs in 02. I am trying not to hold it against but I cannot blindly support him at the moment.

I like him, despite the old stories.

Also, regarding, Carol Mosely-Braun: in each debate I've seen, she's utterly flawless. She's well-spoken, well-informed, very smooth, has a gentle nature. In short, she appears to be darned-near a perfect candidate to me. The fact that she's polling so low is some sort of indictment of American politics, and I don't exclude myself from the guilty. I mentioned above that I lean toward Howard Dean. He's not my ideal candidate--that would be either Kucinich or CMB. I guess I'm going for "winnability", which is why I counted myself among the guilty vis. CMB.

Also, it occurs to me that I have laid out a poll that, by its nature will be pretty quiet, since I asked for the non-vocal folks to vote. I may bump it from time to time, if it starts to fall.

7. It's still too early for me to pick a candidate.

I have watched several of the debates and have tried to keep myself informed of the issues and the candidates' stands on them but it is still too early. So far I have been mostly impressed with Kerry, Dean, and Clark but the other candidates also have some good points.

9. Speaking of debates

Did you (or anyone else here) catch the Iowa AARP 'symposium' or 'discussion' or whatever it was? Kind of off-topic, but I was very impressed by the moderator of that get-together. He was thoroughly professional, kept the flow, was respectful of all the candidates. He made the CNN and (of course) the FOX people look like junior high school yearbook staff dropouts. So good job, Iowa PBS Guy Whose Name I Can't Recall.

as we have seen, they can be easily manipulated by a go-getter and are in no way reflective of the general public.

I was under the impression that you could only vote once, and that this was governed by your screen name.

As to Democratic Underground not reflecting the opinions of the general public, yes, you're right. But I wanted to gague the opinion on Democratic Underground, and I was hoping to get the opinions of those who aren't very vocal on the subject. I guess the short answer to your question, in my case is: to satisfy my curiosity.
