FAUX News distorts again: Get this
Instead of saying that "Clark still applauded the U.S. mission in Afghanistan as he addressed a large audience at Harding University, in Searcy, Arkansas. "I tremendously admire, and I think we all should, the great work done by our commander-in-chief, our president, George Bush," he said in the January 22, 2002 speech. The university provided TIME a videotape of his remarks."

They cut it down and just said Clark in a speech said:

"I tremendously admire, and I think we all should, the great work done by our commander-in-chief, our president, George Bush,"

They just forgot to mention the fact that he was talking about the war in Afghanistan. I guess that doesn't really matter does it.

I think this should be proof positive that FAUX is a Repug channel if nothing else has.

1. FAUX News
I guess the GOP has some reason to worry about Clark's chances.

7. Why does Faux upset you so?
Edited on Sat Oct-18-03 08:19 PM by RapidCreek
You talk in circles from thread to thread. I should think you would be overjoyed that Faux is painting Clark as a right leaning Democrat who loves Bush! After all...in your other thread you said "Face facts, no ultra liberal is gonna win the General Election."

Since you insist, I'll follow your lead... let's do face the facts....folks like yourself claim the only way Dems will win the next election is to energize the "moderate middle". What, if not energizing the "moderate middle" to look favorably upon Clark is Faux doing? After all, no self respecting lefty/socialist (your assertion, not mine) would debase him or herself by watching such tripe...not one, so they ain't gonna see it anyway, right?

Nah, Faux ain't a Repug channel :) ....they are demonstrative of a "moderate middle" bent, just like you! They call left leaning Dems socialists, just like you. They claim left leaning Democrats are unelectable, just like you. They claim most Americans are deep down conservatives, just like you. They call valid criticism "bashing", just like you. So I just have to ask....what have you got against them? As much time as you obviously spend watching Faux....well what can I say?

2. That's Maddening, Isn't It? That's Why I've Given Up Watching Cable-News..
... sources of any type. Local news, network news, local papers and internet news (from selected reputable sources) are the only sources for my news.

The rest of them are whores.

6. I have NEVERNEVERNEVER....
watched cable news. I think that, from the beginning, it has distorted the news, if only by repetition to fill the time and to MAKE MONEY. Haven't watched local news for 2 decades, way too much voyeuristic pap. Gave up on network news about 2000 (and I taped, and indexed it for years!!!!!!). Still watch PBS, read a Warren Buffet-owned newspaper, and now the internet.

4. Who needed proof that Fox was conservative? :)
I never watch it, but I saw a television commercial for Fox News on Comedy Central today- it was hilarious.

They had Sean Hannity saying, 'Fox News puts the news in perspective'.

Now, that's essentially an admission that they have biased news coverage. It really made me laugh when, three seconds later, the tagline, "Fair and Balanced" came up. Well, which is it? :p

5. More like puts the news in the Repug pocket.
I feel so sick and ripped. This is getting as bad as the 700 Club News station.

8. There has to be a point...
...where the right has to realize, that for God's sake! They have Ollie North, John Kasich, at el, on the f'n payroll!

You know, for a while, a few righties were starting to acknowledge the slant at Fox, but that was only in the context of (after they started getting ratings) the nutjobs using this as a legitimization... "oh, see? Foxnews is popular because America is becoming more conservative, so naturally they will turn to Foxnews, because they do lean, slightly to the right."

Oh, sure! Right... and reruns on the USA network tend to get better ratings than cable news.

Surely, cable news reflects the pulse of America.

Good God!
