hey, Floridians . . . what's the scoop? . . .
remember those bogus lists that Cruella compiled to deny tens of thousands of citizens (mostly minority) their right to vote in the 2000 election? . . . and that they used again in the 2002 election, supposedly because there wasn't time to fix them? . . .

any idea if they're planning to use the same lists in 2004? . . . if so, are they planning to expand the lists to exclude even more voters? . . . is anyone in the state looking into this, taking steps to correct it? . . . inquiring minds want to know . . .

1. What was the story
on the 70,000 desenfranchised black voters. Why did the NAACP settle out of court? What was the settlement?

3. Why don't you e-mail the Miami Herald or the Sun-Sentinel?
I'm sure you could get some info from the newspapers.

7. There's been some rumblings in Michigan by right wingers
Gov. Granholm refused to sign their partial birth abortion bill, because they were trying to sneak in wording that prohibited all abortions when there is a fetal heartbeat detected, and because there was no provision for the health and safety of the mother. She also refused to act on a charter school proposal. As she only won the election by 2%, the racist idiots in Kent and Livingston counties think that perhaps they could float a recall. I don't-it'll just get more Detroiters voting, something they've been doing again since Clinton.

5. I believe the NAACP settled out of court
And part of the agreement was that the people who had been illegally purged from the voter rolls would be restored after the 2004 election. What a deal, ha?

6. I thought they had to be restored in time for the 2004 election
and the issue was that they wouldn't be (and weren't) restored by the 2002 election - whereby disenfranchising voters for 2 election cycles.

It would be great to get an update on the 'process' of restoring voters right to vote, and a timeline (where they are in the process and when it will be complete.)

8. They Claimed They Couldn't Do it in Time for 2004
To take someone off the rolls takes a second,
to put him back takes years and lots of paperwork.
