Just yesterday, Wolf Blitzer was raving about *'s "56%" approval
Edited on Mon Oct-20-03 01:25 PM by CatWoman
courtesy of a CNN/USA Today poll.

This morning, on Washington Journal, a caller called in to relate her disgust of *. The host (swarmy jerk) responded with "Well, why is it that half the country still supports him?"

This don't look like 56% appoval, or half of the country's support to me:

1. That poll was obviously off the mark
every other poll has Bush between 49 and 53 percent. Not exactly great territory.

3. Great this came out on the same day that Washington Journal jerk
got snotty with David Corn!

He was really on his back, wasn't he? Very hostile, in a sneaky way.

7. that guy was a total prick---"how do they coach you?"

corn's response was a good smackdown of that guy. what kind of a question is it to ask "why do you say 'in my book'?"
every freaking author does that when they're on a program promoting a book. what else are they to say?
and when corn started to respond to another moron caller, the moderator prick interrupted him and said, "caller, go ahead, finish what you were saying."
prick.

29. and like I said, she made absolutely no sense
she kept rambling and making all kinds of allegations, but wouldn't let Corn correct her.

She just kept calling him a liar.

37. though it's amusing for us when they let ramblers like that go on.....

the difference between "our people" who are guests on c-span and "their people" who are guests is that "our people" are actually able to answer questions and show the flaws in the arguments of their detractors ("did you read my book?")
whereas "their people" just change topics or revert to a talking point or say "i'm not familiar with the study you're talking about."

i liked his response to the caller who compared him to ann coulter.

4. I see his highest rating was in September 2001.
So what kind of terrorism act to frighten Americans and give him another heroic moment as our fearless leader will we get next? I'm thinking something might happen at the southern border of the US or possibly Hawaii or Alaska which are hard places to maintain security. I don't think the East Coast or Washington will be targeted again. IMHO

27. Speaking of Faux
Their poll doesn't think President Punk is doing so great either, and is very close to Zogby:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,100306,00.html

"...In this week's FOX News national poll, President Bush's job rating stands at 52 percent approve and 37 disapprove. Striking differences are seen between the ratings the president receives from his own political party (85 percent of Republicans approve) and Democrats (26 percent approve), though he receives similar ratings among men (53 percent approve) and women (51 percent approve)...."

You wouldn't happen to be "from his own political party", would you?

38. Zogby's poll in early September with Bush at 45 percent
was bit low. But if you throw that out, Zogby shows Bush declining from 53 to 52 to 50 to 49.

11. I read that Zogby nailed the 2000 election outcome better than others.
He showed Gore getting more votes when Gallup and the rest had most people voting for Bush.

If that's any indication of the quality of Zogby's polling, it would seem he is more reliable than most.

Nice try, who is your favorite? Fox news opinion poll. Zogby nailed the 2000 election. OOOOPPSS Fox even has dumbass at 51%. I guess you like the Gallup poll that has him at 56% while every other poll has him between 49-52.

If Gallup is so accurate. Why during the 2000 election when Gallup was putting out daily polls for CNN that had 15 point swings, they had to put out a press release explaining why there poll swayed so far so much. Also Gallup has Clinton as the highest job approval rating of any President at 69%. Now I love Clinton, but do you really think 10-15 of republicans and about 65% of independents really approved of Clinton's job performance.
