Who here has read "The Bush Dyslexicon"?

I've been reading it these past few days, and it is truly a chilling book. Too often, we hear and read the things Bush says, shake our heads, and say "what an idiot." But Bush isn't an idiot. He's as cunning and manipulative as Nixon ever was; he just wraps it up in Reaganesque beffudlement.

This book scares the hell out of me.

1. I have - and agree with your (and Miller's) assessment...

The only time he speaks clearly and coherently is when he's talking about death and vengeance. :scared:

8. I third this assessment.

Miller perceived the sadistic aspect of Bush's being, very early on. The whole book is tremendously perceptive, & events have borne out what might have seemed conjectural 2 1/2 years ago (when the book was written).

12. Not a joke book at all

It's better suited to the horror section in the bookstore than to the humor section.

The problem with the joke books (like My First Presidentiary) and joke websites is that they're all built on the "Bush is a moron" theme. It would be sooooo much easier to beat him if he were just a moron; but he isn't. He's cold and calculating, and much like his father, he's incapable of understanding or empathizing with the needs of the common man.

Lines like, "You're workin' hard to put food on your family" are funny, but they reveal something important about Bush: He doesn't understand what it's like to work hard or to worry about where the next meal is coming from. That is only part of Miller's point; trust me, it gets worse.

....Bush really is an idiot. A RUTHLESS, EVIL idiot. He cannot give an "off the cuff" speech and he makes up words and phrases....read "Bushisms" . He's also been a REALLY bad businessman....Harkin....the Texas Rangers....and his very first oil company?? can't remember the name but, Daddy's name helped buy him out and rename it Harkin. He's really not very intelligent.

He IS Ruthless and Evil...I'll give him that.

You can tell by his language and grammar when he doesn't care about an issue. However, when he's talking about something he really does care about, like war or revenge, he speaks with a considerable degree of coherence.

I'm not entirely convinced that the Texas accent isn't a put-on. I just keep having this vision of Bush, in private, talking like Thurston Howell III from Gilligan's Island.

I wonder if he calls Laura "Lovey."

After reading it, it became impossible for me to think of Bush as just an idiot.

Watching Bar and Poppy on NBC's "Today" this morning really brought it home.

Loaned it to my dad , haven't gotten back yet ..

That book is what turned my on to rove's evil ..
After reading that book I felt that rove was the most
dangerous amongst to lot .
