Socially very liberal, fiscally very conservative (as in balanced budget). In favor of some, but not many restrictions on gun ownership (ban assault weapons, obviously, more controls on hand guns, but leave hunters be with existing regulations.)

And what should be done about NAFTA and the WTO? Should the US impose US or international standards on countries we make trading agreements with? If not, what standards should be set, and what trade-offs should the US be willing to make for fair trade?

Sure, I agree with the tax rollback. I wouldn't mind leaving the breaks in place for the few 'families of four' who get the best cut in the deal, as Krugman suggests. But a 100% repeal is probably best.

If you remember, before b**h forced the tax breaks through, polls showed 80% of Americans didn't WANT a tax 'cut'. How many other 'tax cuts' in history have been handled the way this one was.. by mailing out $300 checks? Media show all the way.

I understand Dean wants to make some changes to NAFTA. That and WTO are not something I have kept up with as much as other issues .. but I trust HD to make the right decisions. Something DOES need to be done about the corporations taking their business and jobs out of our country, and he knows it.

Repeat after me: We don't need any part of Bush's Tax Cut in order to provide fair tax policy that benefits the middle class.

Instead of picking and choosing which parts of Bush's tax cuts are worth retaining in this convoluted, mangled tax system, why not get rid of all of the tax cuts and introduce some RESPONSIBLE tax policy that benefits the middle class?

IOW, why is it presented as a black and white issue, as in Either You Are For Repealing All Of Bush's Tax Cuts Which = Raising Taxes On The Middle Class Or You Support Rolling Back SOME Of Bush's Tax Cuts Which Is The Only Way To Give The Middle Class A Fair Shake?

Since you are making this your issue of choice, I will assume you know a lot about this issue. That's good, because I need help. What is the difference between US and International trade policy? I mean, I don't think most people know any specifics about these policies as they currently exist. I think people look at this specific issue and see "waffle" which is ridiculous when you consider that this all stems from a dimwitted attack on Dean over semantics, not policy.

Dean wants for our trade policy to include standards for labor rights, human rights, and environmental protection. When he used the term "international trade policy" he was referring to the EU, and more specifically how you can't JOIN the EU if you don't adhere to certain standards. Some US trade policies have similar caveats.

So the answer to that is BOTH. Trade offs? There need not be tradeoffs.

Liberal/center left but it is kinda hard to put a fast label on it. I'm liberal but like Dean's fiscal conservatism. I'm very big on the environment because in the end that's really all we got in a way. I like Dean's practicality.

In some areas I'm fairly centrist, in others I'd be considered radical.

As far as environmentalism, I'd be considered "radical" by most. However to me, it's sheer practicality. The environment must be protected at any cost. It's what gives us life.

As far as most other things, I feel that competition is good, but it's the government's job to play referee and enforce the rules so that it's truly competetive.

What the republicans fail to tell you is that competition doesn't necessarily lead to better products, what it leads to is the biggest and strongest eating the rest to ELIMINATE the competition.

It's like a basketball game without referees, and no rules, and pretty soon Shaquille O'Neal is standing on a chair kicking everyone down who approaches and stuffing ball after ball through the hoop.

Businessmen are like children. Their job is to push the rules as far as they can without getting their hands swatted, and hard. You have to cordon off certain areas (the environment) and say YOU CAN'T PLAY OVER HERE. And you have to watch them like a fucking lifeguard and make sure nobody's getting pulled under water.

And yes, of course Bush's tax cuts should be 100% done away with. They were a bad idea in the first place. They should never have happened at all.

The fact that I think George Bush should be sent to death row for his crimes .... along with his cronies ... does that make me radical? If so, then I'm a radical.

Bring up the site then go to the second button "take the test" on the left. I found out when I took this on another thread that I'm a leftist libertarian like Nelson Mandela. It doen't seem to match up with any of the candidates. What a revelation! My thanks to whoever posted it first. Lots of fun.
