What's the Most Irritating Nonsense from the Right These Days?
Take your pick. Is it...

1. O'Reilly's claim that there's some sort of conspiracy out to get him, that NPR is one example of the leftist media, and that Fox News doesn't lean to the right.

2. The absurd argument that Gen. Wesley Clark is a war criminal.

3. The persistant claim that the media is biased towards liberals.

4. The never-ending rumor that Sen. Hillary Clinton will run for president in 2004.

5. The never-ending rumor that Sen. Clinton and former President Clinton are using Wesley Clark to get Hillary ahead for 2008, one more example of her insatiable thirst for power.

6. Include your own example.

My vote would go to 1 or 5, but all are extremely irritating.

1. what isn't irritating
I can't think of anything they do lately that isn't irritating. It is getting so bad I almost can't even watch Jon Stewart anymore. Even with Jon making fun of them, seeing their bonehead maneuvers is more than I can stand these days. It is like they have a bottomless well of inane and malevolent crap to put out in to the world.

2. #3 I think
because it appears to be the most dangerous and threatening at the moment.

When I saw Aaron Brown run that propaganda piece last night I almost puked. Even a good Minnesota Liberal like Aaron is rolling over for the Bush edict to run only "good news" about Iraq.

I'm telling you folks...we've got to act and act quickly to stop this.

3. Bush haters
Being dismissed as people who hate bush. As if we hate him for personal reasons, not because he is the worst president ever.

4. Most irritating trait from the right:
Their intense hatred of the left will never allow them to admit they're wrong, so things will just progressively deteriorate in this country.

5. drum roll.... continuing to harp on clinton - while pretending bushco
hasn't lied about national security, reasons for going to war, reasons to explode the national debt and increase taxes (due to shifts to state and local) on the middle and lower middle classes (esp if childless), etc. etc. etc.

The number one irritation... snide way to mention Clinton (as in... that lying, cheating man)... while NEVER mentioning the lies of bush or comparing their magnitude in terms of damage done to this country.

7. the way they paste those phony smiles on their faces
whenever they're talking. Always whining about the other side with that condescending smirk on their faces.

Makes you want to take a weed-whacker to them.

9. That the media is liberal, and that Bush is taken seriously
Every time someone says "The president (sic) expressed his opinion today" I feel like shouting "Who cares, he's just reading a friggin' script! Quit acting like he knows what he's doing!"

Makes me rather annoying in public, actually.

10. all of the above...
..but I would add:

"Bush is a Christian man, and I'm glad he's our president." :puke:

In response to ANY criticism of Iraq: "Don't you care that we liberated the Iraqi people?"

It's very widely believed. It steers media even further to the right than they already are, in an effort to avoid the "liberal media" label. It makes mainstream media outlets pick up the tabloid dreck that Fox News and the WSJ editorial pages put out.

There NEEDS to be an overtly liberal news outlet. Something that's willing to print/televise not only fact-based arguments, but relentless smear. It's ugly, but I think that's really the only way to get other perspectives to percolate into the mainstream media.

It'd also act as a barometer... as a clear example of what a "liberal" press *actually* looks like.

13. I'll go with
that Dubya restored integrity to the White House, or any variation. Acting like things are going OK in Iraq is right up there.
