John Ashcroft and a Left - Right Coalition

I find John Ashcroft the most offensive part of the Bush administration. His frontal attack on civil liberties is opposed by both progressives and traditional conservatives (not Bush neo-cons). Ashcroft is a political hack who was awarded a cabinet position after losing his senate seat to a corpse. Let's take this opportunity to find common ground with all civil libertarians - both left and right.

1. Great thought

Two points come to mind:

First, coalition building is an absolute necessity to defeat the Bush* regime.

Second, Ashcroft is one of Bush's* greatest liabilities and our side should capitalize on that.

2. I'm all for it...

just like I'm all for American's coming together, forgiving each other our differences, and letting people choose their lifestyle. It's the American way. The neocons have divided us as a people more than any group before, even moreso than Ray-gun, which I didn't feel was possible, but they did it. The hate America for it's freedoms and will not rest until individuals no longer have the freedoms that has set this country apart.
