43 Attacks on US Soldiers in One Day
How many US soldiers do you think will have to die before the right comes totally around??? 10,000 - over 20,000 - more? I would really love to ask.

2. In Vietnam it was 58,000
The anti-war movement was largely discounted until "their" boys started showing up among the dead. This occurred only after the draft lottery system was begun. Until then, draftees were largely those whose parents couldn't afford to keep them out of the Army.

3. Were the numbers in VietNam
classifed as they are today? I was very young but I do seem to remember them showing coffins and body bags coming home - and I suppose the numbers were pretty legit? I find something incredibly suspect that we started with 150,000 troops on the ground - now you here 130,000 everywhere, all the time - including the National Guard that was brought in. Seems like 30,000 are missing somewhere.

Wecome to DU Bill :hi:

You have got that right, My folks could't afford it, so I went.
But with my son it is different, he will not go to Dumbyas war and I have called the white house and told them that also. And this time father does have the money. But isnt it sad.

7. Welcome to DU
Medical Speaking :hi: Our country and myself owe you a debt of gratitude for your horrific service - and am really glad to have all of you here. I've always been totally fascinated by anything "Viet Nam", all the movies, info, etc. Don't know why but maybe because I was at that young impressionable age and really wanted to figure out what the hell we were killing people for. I'm so glad that you son will not be going to this war - let's just hope there is NO DRAFT which will exempt the middle classers. I don't want to see any kid going - obviously things are much worse over there than we're being told.

We got Kobe, baby!

I say this every time I see a thread like this, and will not cease - God forgive us for sending George W Bush to the white house.

14. Officially 340 dead since the invasion
the pace is picking up, I'm wondering how long until there are 500 dead, that's a benchmark number that people can get their minds wrapped around. I'm guessing by the first of the year we'll hit that number or be pretty damn close to it.
It's not a very joyous way to say hello, but welcome everyone.

18. Yes,I didn't include
the rest of the world in my numbers, as for the Iraqis we don't know ten thousand? more?. I think you'de have to include all the Iraqis from 1990 to the present, in that case you'de be speaking of hundreds of thousands. One is too damn many.
