solution for bush* Ft. Stewart fiasco....re-open DC General Hospital
re-open the DC General Hospital in OUR Nation's Capital and bring OUR 600 injured and sick soldiers out of the crappy barracks in Ft. Stewart to at least a place where they can rest comfortable in a hospital and get medical care ASAP......bush* should order the hospital to be re-opened NOW....

DC General Hospital is a HUGE hospital complex that was closed in Dec. 2002, while shrub dallied around here in DC, and looked the other way about medical care for poor people...LIHOP.....

so now, there is a giant hospital here in DC, with NO patients...

it would just take a pResidential order to OPEN UP DC GENERAL HOSPITAL and put these 600 sick and injured Veterans from the Iraqi war into decent rooms and beds, decent bathrooms (with wide doors, elevated toilet seats, rails to prevent falls, push button alarms to call for a nurse)....DC General Hospital also has isolation wards for OUR soldiers with contagious diseases, and a mental ward for OUR soldiers with 'shell-shock'...it's the perfect solution, and shrub could get this done in just a few days, as OUR soldiers get transferred to DC from this dumpy barracks down in Georgia...save our soldiers....

OPEN DC GENERAL !!!!

2. Amen are you like near DC
The day I met Congressman Kucinich he and local DC activists talked about this. Youre right they should open this hospital with or with out the troops.

4. American taxpayers are still paying $6 million a year for DC General
Hospital to maintain it's health clinics...and the Hospital HAS NO PATIENTS in the rooms.....bring our wounded/sick soldiers to DC...

-snip-

"....approximately $6 million annually still being paid by taxpayers to keep the dilapidated campus of former D.C. General Hospital operating for use by health care clinics."

it's dilapidated, but it's a whole lot nicer than a beat-up barracks down at Ft. Stewart, Georgia...OUR wounded/sick Veterans would certainly appreciate the upgrade to DC General....

worse...besides shrub's TOTAL WASTE of this facility,....check out what shrub's addition LACK OF PLANNING did to the medical facilities all over OUR Nation's Capital.....when shrub LIHOP for DC General to close, here's what happened:

"In fact, the system is so fraught with problems that it is now difficult for anyone - wealthy or poor - to get quick attention in a D.C. hospital's emergency room unless death is imminent."

and yes, I live inside the Beltway...very close to where shrub lives...

6. yes, I'm making 150 logistical signs for the March and 5 for DU
meeting....the logistical signs are typically "First Aid"..."Media"...."Sound Truck"...."Disabled Vehicle"....and big red crosses for vehicles and our great medical volunteers....

there's a lot of logistics to make certain that everyone is safe, that the event works well, and that the PERMIT is followed (like every single vehicle that is out on the parade route for tranportation and first-aid and stuff has to permitted and MARKED)...please stay on the March route and do not deviate...

so you'll see my signs (black ink on white boards, and RED for the first aid crosses)...sprinked all around....and the Democratic Underground signs too (will try for 5 DU signs if there is enough boards and stuff, and I'm looking for little American Flags to put on top)....

hello 'kid'....I'm old...but I'll be glad to meet you....:hi:
