Grand Hypocrisy Party Behavior: Williamson County, TX, Sheriff

Amid growing calls to resign, Williamson County Sheriff John Maspero has decided to seek treatment for a drinking problem and will run for re-election next year, his attorney announced Monday.

Georgetown police stopped Maspero, 59, in the wee hours of Oct. 11 after two 911 callers reported that he was staggering along the road, drunk, and was relieving himself.

For those of you who do not know, Williamson is ferociously Republican territory, and has a national reputation for an almost Third World harshness on crime.
