1. Let's see if the mouthpiece of Faux runs
with this... and shock the Americans who tune to the Faux News and immediately rip up their voting registration card that identifies themselves as R, and re-register as a Dem....

That would be an interesting turnover... a major one.

2. Great, but read the article
They downplay it to death. Also they cynic in me says that they are just reporting this to get it out of the way, since the mainstream press is picking it up. They wouldn't want to be accused of being either unfair or unbalanced, would they?

22. Every reporting I have seen of this story
In the past few days has downplayed the level of offense, failed to mention that the act was treason, and tried to make it look that Prescott Bush had no power to stop it.

This is the normal trick of how the media covers for Bush. They say he has no control.

Its always bullshit, too.

Prescott Bush was one of the most powerful men with that company, so if he didn't have any control then he must have been a real fuckup loser.

And President Bush definately has control over the intelligence agencies and what they report, as well as what intelligence he gets to see. If he doesn't, then it proves that he is either: a liar, incompetent, or horribly complacent. All of those point to the same conclusion: he should be removed from office.

But all bets are off after what is very likely to be a Stalinist Farce of an "election" in 2004 and Emperor Bunnypants* becomes Lame-Duck Fuhrer*

6. New York's Governor
Well, what about this part of the news story?

"E. Roland Harriman, the bank chairman and brother of former New York Gov. W. Averell Harriman (search), held 3,991 shares. Bush had one share."

Just noticed that and thought about how intertwined this stuff is.

14. You want to dig into some real thick stuff...
...take a google at Averell Harriman, who goes WAY back with the Bushes (the Farrish family is another).

Dealt with Hitler, Stalin, Franco -- the whole ugly lot of them.

His son William A. Harriman was also plugged in to just about everything. Big business, railroads, and stints as advisor to Nixon and Ambassador to Moscow (and along with Armand Hammer, one of the first to make business deals with the USSR).

Starts to look like a Bohemian Grove dinner party after awhile. These people are dynastic in a big way. Family connections continue through the generations.

34. You are the closest to the mark yet!
There just may in fact be genetic links to this type of generational phenomena. The most contemporary neurological research is finding the locus of all kinds of human endeavor located within specific neurological structures of the brain.
That is, ones' physiology precedes ones psychology.
They do it, in part, because they can.

was worth $500,000. You can imagine what the Harrimans felt like when nearly $2 billion of their assets were seized.

26. What they don't tell you is that Grandnazi Prescott managed all 3991 of
Harriman's shares. It was Grandpa Bush who was running the bank and making the investments on behalf of the Harrimans. So the suggestion that he knew nothing of Fritz Thyssen's Nazi ties is complete bullshit.

Sorry, new guy here. I read the article...and? It's about some minor Bush ties to a nazi supporter that were severed in 1938. I think we need to concentrate on more relevent issues to get this dope out of office.

18. Relevant Issues
Edited on Tue Oct-21-03 05:59 PM by TNOE
Well we've got a TON of relevant issues, but nothing seems to be catching on in the mainstream media, you know - 9/11 - the report that they won't cooperate with or issue, black box voting - rigged voting machines, the outing of a CIA officer - treason/crime, going to war to make Bush and his friends wealthier for a lie as our sons and daughters bleed red... so much to do. Just wondering what its going to take to wake up the rest of America - the right to be exact. Maybe Bush's grandfather supporting Hitler will do the trick or the fact that his whole administration is full of Nazi's.... nah, that's not going to work. He HAS NOT had oral sex in the OVAL OFFICE YET!!!

Bush is too strong a supporter of Isreal, and a hater of Muslims (who idolize Hitler), so most people wont buy this issue...I like your other suggestions :-)

Go to memri.org ....fascinating website. English translations of the latest Muslim mainstream newspaper articles. Of course I am refering to Middleastern Muslims. My wife is Islamic (Tartar from Siberia), and does not share their views.

In the past they have lots of references to their "love" of Hitler. I am not sure if they have an archive link. I will check

30. The ties were not severed in 1938
The assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading With The Enemy Act, because they continued to do business with the Third Reich. And beyond the bank, there were investments in a steel company which used concentration camp slave labor.

This is relevant to Bush Jr because it established the family fortune of the Bush Criminal Empire and set the pattern for their total disregard for the laws of God or Man, or even basic fucking decency.

36. Good point
But I think people secretly laugh at anyone who would blame Ted et al for what his father did. Whenever I hear someone hit on Joe to discredit Ted, they already lose credibility in my mind. It is sillyness all around. I don't care what anybodys grandfather did, unless he was a great humanitarian or something :-)

39. Actually, the connection was legally separated in 1942
well after the war began.

And there is circumstantial evidence that indicates that Pappy Bush had close control over (including several onsite visits), Polish internment camp operations (slave labor), through mining and steelworks activities worked by internees. Pappy was almost certainly one of Hitler's primary financial operatives. If you research this a bit, it isn't a matter of business gone sour. One researcher referred to Pappy as "Hitler's Banker" primarily due to financial services rendered earlier in Hitler's takover of Germany. This isn't a matter of stock ownership.

40. Maybe they're just getting us ready for the day the Republican Party
pulls back the curtain and reveals themselves as the neo-nazis they are. Americans don't seem to care. Notice how the revelations about Schwarzenegger's pro-Hitler statements barely registered with them. WWII, Hitler and Nazism is like so long ago! We are the most ahistorical people on the face of the planet.
