I would have put this in the "articles" section, but the title is misleading. BTW, concurrent receipt is about retired disabled vets getting their full retirement and disability pay rather than the current 100 y.o. system in which their (tax free) disability is subtracted from their retirement check.
http://armytimes.com/story.php?f=0-292925-2322665.phpJones (R-SC) was one of only two Republicans to sign a discharge petition organized by Rep. Jim Marshall, D-Ga., that would force a vote on HR 303, a bill promising to allow concurrent receipt of full retired pay and disability compensation for all veterans.
Jones signed the petition Sept. 25 after warning House Republican leaders he would join Democrats if no agreement was reached on concurrent receipt. He warned there were up to 15 other Republicans ready to join him, enough to reach the 218 signatures needed to force a vote, but the other Republicans never came forward.
