Elder Bush sticks up for business
LUBBOCK -- Former President Bush said business deals were different when he began digging for oil in West Texas back in 1948.

There were no lawyers scrutinizing every word in an oil contract, no escrow agreements tacked on.

"You looked a man in the eye, you shook his hand and you had a deal," Bush told a group of about 1,400 gathered Tuesday for a conference in Lubbock on ethical leadership. "I don't think we'll ever get back to that simplistic but wonderful way of doing business."
(snip)
"It burns me up the way some people paint with such a broad brush, that they think that all business is corrupt, all business is wrong, all business must examine itself because of the misdeeds of a few," he said. "It's not fair, and it's not right, and business is far better, not just in West Texas, but across our country."

Uh, yeah Poppy. Whatever you say.
War is peace. Lies are truth. Orwell couldn't even have imagined the headlines we've been reading these past few years.

1. And whats that you say Poppy? Saddam had WMD?
CAUSE YOU GAVE THEM TO HIM! Who the hell cares what that murderous old fart has to say anyway? Clinton kicked his sorry butt bad in 92. America resoundingly rejected anything he had to say then, he was a laughingstock and yet sonnyboy is sending him all over the world talking to the Russians, the Chinese, who the hell knows who else. The media isn't reporting anything. What is he saying on behalf of the Selected One? He should shut the hell up and ride that witch (barbs) he rode in on home.

2. "You looked a man in the eye, you shook his hand and you had a deal,"
Then when he took his eye off of you.....you screwed him.

3. And he forgot to mention the one he made the deal with was our enemy.
Democrats should have never agreed to get rid of the independent counsel.

4. George Herbert Walker Bush is just missing the good old days
when he and he and Bar moved to Texas, when men were men and so were the women.

6. That is just bullshit
Hey, conservatives, remember when everyone could trust each other and no one had to lock their doors?

Those days are gone, aren't they.

But don't be so quick to blame minorities. Its your fault. Corporations are the biggest criminals on the planet.

And all the backstabbing, lying, and stealing that is going on? Well, that is just the conservative side of people getting the better of them. Greed, contempt for others, selfishness, lust for power and wealth, lying, deciet.... those are all conservative traits.

You miss the days when a handshake and a man's word was good enough? Well, look in the mirror, and blame your own damn self, you heartless, lying asshole.

7. What a load of horsedump...
Back in the Bad Old Days it may have been "you looked a man in the eye, you shook his hand and you had a deal", but in typical Bush Family Fashion he left out the rest: "and you did all that with a straight face, but the second he turned his back you grabbed everything that wasn't nailed down and took him for everything he was worth."
