Hey, if you do things the "right" way, you'll be able to shut out every darn GOP district from north to south. It might even help us more than Tom DeLay's bedwetters in Texas are helping his cockroach caucus.

Back to Cali-forn-ya: I don't know how much time you have before Gropenfuehrer Judgment Day arrives by private jet from his private Malibu gym, but if your legistlature hurries you can get it done before Gray goes back to private life.

Can you do it? If so, you can piggy-back on Texas' ride through the federal courts all the way to Antonin Scalia, who'll be forced to admire the results of his own hypocricy or criminality.

I'm serious. Whaddya say?

Only Republicans care about winning. Democrats care about being "nice" instead.

I am willing to be that California's congressional districts are already pretty well gerrymandered. I doubt that they could be redrawn in such a way as to eliminate additional Republican strongholds.

The GOP legislature teamed with the giant turd John Engler to terminate David Bonior's seat when Michigan lost a seat in the last census. Bonior is a darn good Democrat, too!

The governor has only limited powers.

And all other statewide office holders are Democratic.

We still have the DEM legislature and Gray is still governor, if only in name. Why not have them pull and all-nighter and sign a redistricting plan into place?

Worse that could happen is the thing ends up in the courts. It could even parallel what's going to happen in Texas. That way, if it ends up before the NAZI Rehnquist and his toad Scalia, whatever happens in Texas has to happen in California.

God I love California. Texas, too. In fact, my whole country, including the people.
