What is the real reason * is on a tour?
He doesn't like to travel. He puts himself in some danger and we know from his days in the Texas National Guard and his actions on 9/11 that he is cowardly.

What if the real powers-that-be want him out of the country? What would they be doing here that they need him gone?

Or conversely, his trip is meant to accomplish What?

2. Desperation, imo, he needs money and troops for Iraq, big time!
He and his handlers don't seem to get it that every time he shows his ugly face support around the world drops even further.

4. It's drumming up support for big corporate interests
This is what the people who paid for him, require of him. Free trade agreements etc. I remember at a big dinner before he was elected, he joked to some of the richest most powerful folks in the US ("you" he said "are my base"). Gore's joke, I can't remember it now, didn't quite hit home as well.

6. Usually it drives up the poll numbers when...
the leader travels out of country. I think the WH may be a little concerned about the latest poll numbers?

7. It's so he'll still be on the plane when the protests happen Oct. 25th
We all know that the Boy In The Presidential Bubble can't stand dissent and doesn't like to look at it.

8. Used his high profile as US president to Derail APEC conference?
Took it off discussion of economy (Euro) and switched it to the interests of the BFEE, terra-ism. Got some favorable press for being persausive, changed topics (again) in the US. Main reaons? His brother had told him that Asian prostitutes were great and he thought that Laura would leave his side long enough for him to "explore" a little. When she only snuck away for brief periods he made her dress in Flourescent Pink so the SS boys could spot her early and warn him...

10. He wants another vacation
but is afraid another visit to the "ranch" wouldn't look good. And besides, he might have to do some manual labor like clearing brush on the ole family ranch. Might break a nail. Gotta wear silk.
