Tax cuts working, local radio host says
because the shortfall is ONLY about $375B, not a projected $450B! Guess it makes you look good if you OVER exaggerate the deficit, and come in a few billion under that huge estimate?

Can you believe that?

A local host fill in (the regular host, Mark Belling, was filling in for pigboy on Monday and Tuesday) mentioned this as I was driving home. So you can guess what type of station/listeners they have. And the fill in host was a former representative to Congress from this area (Wisconsin). I think his name is Mark Neuman ??

1. i love rightwing logic
it's brilliant. in other news, bush's tax cuts have prevented us losing even more jobs. if not for them, we would have had the greatest depression in the history of the united states, because of the dastardly policies of clinton.

This Conservative slug is a cousin of my wife (on her Gramma's side) and she thoroughly disowns him. When the "rush" was on to fill the air waves with like thinkers of Limbaugh it is apparent there is a steep drowp-off of technical propagandists, though no shortage of truth assassins.

3. found link to a story on this from today . . .
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/bw/20031022/bs_bw/pi200310227606pi031

In the case of money that Uncle Sam took in, the figures for the year confirm that the erosion wasn't the catastrophe that many had feared. Receipts fell almost 7% during the last fiscal year, with much of the decline due to the recent round of tax cuts, which had a sharp negative impact on the final quarter of the fiscal period.

The whole article seems to slant to favor the administration, but I really feel this is mainly due to the overstated projection that makes it appear "better".

And if this economy is improving, I must ask for WHOM? Not the millions who don't have a job, not the millions of service workers who get poverty wages, not the millions of hungry or homeless, etc.
