There's nothing new in the piece for the regulars of DU, but this young man ought definitely to be encouraged, and there's a form for feedback.

Plus, I really like that as a rallying cry: "George W. Bush is a lying crook." It has such a satisfying ring to it.

George W. Bush is an international criminal.

Not because he pulled out of the Kyoto Protocol. Not because he fought to weaken the effectiveness of the World Court. Not because he is continuing the policy of arming a state that routinely uses overpowering military force against civilians in violation of American law (Israel). Not because he lied to Congress about Iraq's attempts to obtain Yellowcake Uranium from Niger or Iraqi connections to bin Laden (remember him?). Not even because of his slaughter of the English language (though I'm sure even the French consider that to be criminal).

No, George W. Bush is an international criminal because he instigated a pre-emptive war against another country that posed no imminent threat to the United States.

On Oct. 3, Bush said Saddam Hussein "actively deceived the international community, that Saddam Hussein, was in clear violation of United Nations Security Council resolution 1441, and that Saddam Hussein was a danger to the world."

2. I've shared this article for a few reasons:

I believe it does some DU'ers good to see and hear this sort of realisation from places outside DU, Bartcop and Truthout. It's encouraging to know that the epiphanies are out there in the public.

I belive this young man ought to be encouraged. Think of him as a budding Will Pitt. There's a form for feedback of the piece. Feedback is moderated so, any lurkers from the dark side will be unable to spew profanity in response to his opinion.

I think the statement "George W. Bush is a Lying Crook." Makes for a meme-quality rallying cry. I'd like to hear it repeated often in polite society.

7. I can't keep track of them - too many and

a lot of them are slipped under the radar screen into positions where they do not have to be approved by Senate. John Poindexter had been on the job for several months and nobody even knew he was there.
