3. Our Clark group was at the Berkeley Greek Theater..
Handed out thousands of flyers...had a captive audience with many waiting in line.....

"IT'S YOUR ECONOMY AND YOUR WAR, STUPID!"
A REAL MILITARY HERO TELLS A GENUINE INTELLIGENCE FAILURE

4. Great Paragraph
An audience member shouted that Clark voted for Reagan. “So did most of America,” responded Moore, who some time ago emailed Clark to encourage him to join the field of Democratic contenders. “That’s why people don’t like the left — we have a hoity-toity attitude.” Liberals, he said, need to embrace and welcome anyone who voted for Reagan or Bush who now wants to switch sides.

9. Party Puritanism is missing the point
its not Dems vs Repubs but how to advance the progressive agenda. Clark has so farlaid out a comparatively progressive platform and i think has the best chance of not only beating Bush, but increasing the odds of bringing more Dems into congress by allowing them to ride his coattails by sheilding them with his Foreign Policy Cred.

10. I agree with the coat tails
I don't think Clark is the only one who can beat Bush, but I do think he's the one with the best chance -- not only of winning, but of advancing a progressive agenda because of the coattails.

19. Not just the coattails today
but the coattails tomorrow. I could see Clark causing a LOT of folks to switch their party affiliation.

5. Looks Good!
"End corporate welfare and close corporate loopholes: $300 billion. Wes Clark won't tolerate corporate welfare or corporate loopholes in the tax code. These provisions waste resources while providing companies with incentives to pursue handouts instead productivity growth and job creation. Wes Clark supports creation of the Corporate Subsidy Reform Commission to identify corporate welfare and then force Congress to vote up or down on an entire package of cuts. He'll also close loopholes in the tax code, like the ones that allow companies to avoid taxes by shifting income to Bermuda or buying life insurance for non-executive employees who never see a dime."

11. Who better than a general to finally rein in the defense spending..,
This thought keeps nagging at me. The problem binge spending has been on defense over the years. Too much for defense contractors and not enough for people. Clark has expressed a willingness to go after the weapons we don't need--and he can deflect the weak on defense label that has rendered democrats unable to deal with the problem.

This prospect is really appealing and I urge you to at least reflect of the great potential for good in this.

16. In Clark speak:
he calls the Pentagon budget: <b>"the want machine."</b> For some reason, he claims the greatest waste is in the Air force budget. Bye, bye General Myers!

12. He's slowly charting a course that may well
give us control of the White House next year. I'm more than ecstatic...

The Michael Moore quote is pure gold. I strongly disagreed with him in Election 2000 but he has seen fit to grow since and now we're copacetic.

14. Afraid of Clark
I fear that Clark is just another neo-con puppet in disguise. Have you ever heard of undercover republicans?

I think he'd make a much more valuable secretary of defense- putting his military expertise to use, while minimizing the social/diplomatic aspects that he is weak on.

18. He is weak on diplomacy?
Maybe you should spend some time educating yourself on the man. Diplomacy is what he had to focus on when he was in charge of NATO's military; that turned out well, with some decorations from several countries around the world.

23. I was excited on Capital report he mentioned a hot issue imo
Energy Indepence. He didn't elaborate (i know not suprising) but he at least mentioned it. This is an issue we MUST not forget and could be a powerful tool to use against bush. This is one of the big reasons I back J Kerry.
