BBC World News just reporting two members of Australian Parliament removed
for heckling Bush. (the report called them Senators...can that be correct) anyway govt officials there for the speech. Also they said protestors were outside the building but kept well away from sight and hearing of Bush.

They said his speech was interrupted while the hecklers were removed and he made the comment: "We have free speech" (Isn't that the same comment he made here awhile back)

They showed clips of him looking very testy and he was twisting his mouth and doing that "snort" he does when he's irritated. He gave his standard "Terraists, Terraists, and we will hunt them down, no negotiating with them, they can attack a building, a barracks, a bus, they are killers......."

BBC Anchor said that Bush may have "been confused" because the Australian Parlaiment doesn't normally applaud during speeches and while Bush got a standing ovation at the end of his speech that "it's not what he's used to in America."

I wonder if any of our news here has reported he was heckled during his speech? I've turned off our news.....so I wouldn't know.

1. yes they are senators...
It was a combined sitting of Australia's two houses and I think the Greens haven't got any MPs in the lower house...

2. I just saw a much kinder (to bush) report on BBC
mabye BBC America, it was on my PBS station, and they reported that bush cut short his Australlia stay because he can't stand to be away from America for too long. That's what they said. I now wonder how free the press in Brittan is.

Are you there?

3. There is no BBC America
It's just a remix of BBC programmes (sic) for the American audience. All of the content is pure and original British content.

5. If they said that...
...that he cut short his trip because he can't stay away from America, then you obviously mean that "all of the content is pure and original British comedy."

8. He can't stand to be away from America?
Puh-leeezzee! He cut short his trip because his administration is falling apart. Rummy undercutting him, leaks everywhere, etc. And just where is Dick?

4. Killing Democracy Worldwide
Not that Australia's been too healthy lately. They have internment camps for refugees. Ugh.

6. This is nuts
Mr Bush was interrupted by Australian Greens Senator Bob Brown, who was then ordered from the chamber by the Speaker. And when Senator Kerry Nettle was also ordered out for protesting, Mr Bush lifted his voice and said: "I love free speech."

Obviously.
