I haven't seen any news reports that include Clark's quip about the military industrial complex. I was at the speech and while he was discussing budget cuts he quipped: (paraphrased)'I was part of the military industrial complex that Eisenhower warned about. I know everybody in it and how it works. I will not approve spending just because it has a rubberstamp marked "secret" on it.'

3. The good part is...

I taped the whole speech. }(

If anyone ever tries to spin his speech one way or the other, I have it on tape. There was only one journalist there that I recognized. He happens to be a very good political analyst for the Star Ledger Newspaper in NJ. His name is, John Farmer. I made sure that I taped the audience's reaction to the speech, 'lest some reporter tries to claim that Clark didn't "connect" with the audience. The audience was completely engrossed during the speech and lept to their feet in applause at the speech's conclusion.
