Are there any anti-war Republicans?
I've never met one or heard of one. Do you know any Repugs who are anti-war? What do they say about Iraq? Are they willing to stick with the repug party even though they are against war? Or does the invasion cause them to switch parties?

A Tennessee Republican in the House voted both against Bush's war resolution and the recent Iraq aid package.

10. Very true, judge_smales!
Busheviks are nor conservatives nor Republicans. They are Busheviks, which is a Totalitarian animal all it's own.

5. yes Buchanan is against the Iraq war and most all of the christian church
leaders all came out publicly against Bush*s Iraq war

but unfortunatly i don't believe many have deserted the party due to a little'ol war thingy after all "bush* was choosen by God at this time in history" to usher in Armeggedon and the second coming...which ironiclly in turn is meant to either convert every jew to christianity or abanish them all to hell ...funny that the Jewish folkes supporting the CC backed DeLay and BushCo haven't figured it out yet

7. Yes...
Actually..NO

I have several former pub friends & family...Bush has turned them into libertarians. They are against his wars and against his tax cuts without spending reductions. If pubs practiced what they preach, they would no longer be republicans.

11. Chafee (R-RI), Paul (R-TX)
Chafee seems to rub the administration wrong on just about everything they do.

Ron Paul's not REALLY a Republican, but he's antiwar as well.

12. Ron Paul's speech, "We are all democrats now..."
Was hilarious, and his indictement of the neocons was also great. I use him in arguments with conservatives and libertarians all the time...

13. There's one in my UU fellowship
He's an older gentleman, probably about 80, veteran of WWII.

But they are far and few between, I'll admit.

14. Leach is my representative.
Jim Leach is my representative.

Jim Leach (one of the republicans who voted against the Iraq war) basically had to do so or he would have had an angry mob wielding torches on his doorstep.

However, he completely tows the repug party line on everything else...

I voted against him and was angry when the local paper I used to work for endorsed him.

23. That's Better than Most
We had angry mobs on most of their doorsteps
and they still voted for it.

We didn't have torches, maybe that's it.

19. My Republican parents would have been anti-Irag
and I think they would have been pro-Afghanistan. In their lifetimes though, the only war they agreed with was WWII. Since they died after the Vietnam war, I am only guessing, but I don't think they would recognize the GOP today. They had become disillusioned with Nixon and regretted voting for him.
