Ah the liberal media.....you crazy liberals you....
http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/10/24/sprj.irq.main/index.html

Click on this CNN story. From the front page the headline is "Iraq donations top $14 Billion".

Then when you click on the link itself the subtitle to the article is "2 soliders killed in attacks" as though it were saying "Oh yeah and by the way".

Isn't it amazing what gets the headline and what gets a sidebar after the fact note? Also the way the headline is worded makes it seem like that is a huge victory, when in reality it falls well short of the $36B they were looking for.

1. And on a happier note
Cabinet member Snow says we will create two million new jobs by Nov 2004.

Too bad that just a few weeks ago, he was predicting FIVE million new jobs by then, and that we need SEVEN million new jobs if we want to reduce the # of people who are unemployed.

It's the year of lowered expectations.

2. Has anyone ever reaped greater benefit from low expectations
than *. My God, I still can't get over the fact that because he neither broke down in tears nor shit himself, some people actually believe he won the debates with Al Gore.

5. i watched the debates
and assumed the pathetic showing by * would have put end to his madcap scheme......to be yo presidente. When the liars' lies (cnn/fox/nbc/cbs/abc/pbs etc) became the accepted wisdom i knew the reagan revolution had entered new phase; 911 was logical, indeed a certainty right then.

6. Well said
Actually, that is how Bush legislates. Lowered expectations. Usually he promises a certain amount of money to a program, says he only promised it half of what he origionally said, and then only funds it with half of that.

These people know how to spin, and the media is very eager to help them.
