Correct me if I am wrong... the Republicans have declared war on the CIA
Today the Republicans issued a hastily prepared condemnation of the CIA's intelligence during the leadup to the war. During what they called an "investigation", they did what the White House was doing before the war, they ignored evidence contrary to their conclusion, because they had already crafted their strategy before the investigation even started. While playing pin the tail on the donkey might normally work in domestic politics, this strategy does not always work so well when taking on an entire spy agency.

And look at the leaking scandal! Republican Senators and House Reps got up on the floor of Congress and tried to downplay the importance of outing a known CIA operative. They said it was no big deal, she was just a secretary, everyone knew she was CIA. All of this despite the fact that none of them knew what the hell they were talking about. They publicly mocked her outting as nothing more than petty partisan politics, when they were the petty side.

But I digress. From my viewpoint, declaring war on the CIA is not the best path for a political party to take. In fact, it seems to me to be nothing short of suicide.

12. Some of the men in the Sen need home care, I swear.
Time for these men to get out and talk to the people, and it is why our founders wanted congress to be made up of every day people. They wanted people to more in to govt and leave soon. And a citizen army.We are getting to the point we have a House of Lords. A lot of men who got there on their father's name!!!!And Bush flys arounf the world like a Czar of old.

6. They want Tenet's head and I'm not sure I know why
other than to have a fall guy and to put the blame somewhere especially if they can make it look like a "Clinton man." Tenet is an ole buddy of Poppy bush and I believe there is even a CIA building named after Poppy thanks to Tenet and little George. Does anyone remember "Slimy Shrub" saying about Tenet "this is my man."

7. Don't toy with my affections
I WISH they'd be so hubristic; it's about time the rest of the non-reactionary world lines up against these imperial theocrats.

Ya don't mess with careerists; these guys are not only honor-bound to their profession, their very survival depends on remaining untainted. You can cow them to a certain degree, but when you actually start to purge them, they'll band together and bring the whole thing down.

All I can do is HOPE that the neo-cons are full enough of themselves to try.

10. Their arrogance is unbounded.
They have had so much success with doing any damn thing they want and getting away with it (intimidation and propaganda... good Nazi techniques) that they are drunk with power. They believe they can intimidate and harrass anyone or any agency and the sheeple (sorry, jiacinto, couldn't resist) public will simply baaah and say yes. When will it finally end?

13. Unless...............
the CIA is part of the coup. Tin foil hat time, but if the CIA has now become an extension of the BFEE, the entire world is fucked. Remember who the Director used to be. All well placed Bush supporters in the CIA, the agency has now become Bush's tool. I know it sounds farfetched, but it could explain why they're not concerned about retaliation or consequences. They own the agency.

16. You are wrong: Good cop, bad cop
The Republicans OWN the CIA. This is a little storm that will blow over and, the CIA continues to sow seeds of destablization world-wide. The US is a government with too much power, to much wealth: seeds for a warmongering power run amuch and nothing will stop it. There are operatives inside the CIA whom this administration utterly controls...they will only let things get to a certain point and then no more! They are no problem for the Bush cabal.
