BBV - Faux News Channel - Tony Snow
Yep! Fox. Unbelievable, but true.

On the show "Special Report" with Tony Snow, there was a five minute segment re: How the 2000 vote problems caused many counties to buy electronic voting machines (EVMs) and that now there is much worry & controversy because there is no "hard copy" or "paper trail" after the vote and the possibility of fraud exists. The reporter said it might cost those counties another half billion dollars to fix the problem. The segment was done by reporter Orlando Salinis, and will probably be re-run several times tonight, if anyone wants to see it.

I missed the show, not being a regular Faux news watcher but picked this up on MoveOn's ActionForum.

1. I don't know how he does it and I am hesitant to bring it up
in case Fox discovers this also, but Orlando Salinas usually reports straight. It seems that the spin is abandoned for the minute and a half that he is on.

2. Maybe, just maybe
With all the research that dem activists have been doing on this issue, someone might be afraid that we'll learn how to stuff the ballot box.

3. the ulterior motive
The BFEE wants Americans to be concerned enough about secure voting to approve the purchase of electronic equipment everywhere.

4. Naw, that's not it.
When they thought that it was only their side that could fix the elections everything was fine. At this point they have finally figured out that we can fix them also, so they will go for fair rather than give us the advantage.

I wonder if something happened in California that changed their minds? Was the use of the touch screens uneventful in the Arnie election, or did something go wrong that didn't get much coverage?
