Total Estimates: 800+ dead, 5000+ wounded by Nov 2, 2004
800 Coalition deaths and another 5000 coalition wounded will be accumulated by Nov 2, 2004. And those are the low numbers if things just keep pace at what they're at now and attacks don't increase(which it seems they will).

Basically, these numbers say that 5% of our 120-140,000 man force of troops will either be killed or wounded by Nov 2, 2004 in Iraq. 1 in 20 soldiers.

If the United States is forced to practically stay there for many more years...we could have thousands of troops dead. A possibility as no exit plan is even being circulated within this administration.

1. That's assuming they don't get in something really nasty
like a barracks bombing, or something else that can pick off a couple hundred in one fell swoop.

3. Why would you say such a thing?
Four of those who could be included in those numbers are boys I helped raise, my sisters' sons.

Sometimes words are superfluous.

4. Well...
Now that you mention it, a figure of 800 dead will no doubt include some number of troops who have been involved in pillage, summary execution of civilians, collective punishment and other war crimes....

5. don't forget . . .
we're talking only about those "will either be killed or wounded." That doesn't include the mysterious illnesses and the suicides. . . not to mention the psychological traumas that will persist for many who get to come home years from now.

the damage to the lives of a whole generation of women and men is unthinkable.
