today's RALLY was guilty of some excesses, but, MOST OF US WHERE THERE FOR THE MARCH

and there was plenty of hot, on target bush bashing

and the overwhemling message was: BRING THEM HOME

and, IMPEACH BUSH

maybe you had to be there, and, maybe you need to be there next time.

10. I love the image I get from that!

I'm seeing Barc-a-Loungers moving at Segway/Zombie speed, with arms that hold televisions out in front of the chairs so that the Dorito-eaters can watch reality television while they "march". Then I see the recliners breaking through the picket lines in Southern California in order to go to the grocery and restock the Dorito supply.

It's been too serious of a day. Thanks for lightening it for me a little.

13. hey, if i could stage an event...

it would look a lot different. i agree that there were off-topic speakers.

I would have preferred much fewer speakers giving longer, more substantial speaches. and would intersperse that with moving/motivational music performances.

and, remember, part of the purpose of events like this is to EMPOWER the participants--not to miraculously bring down bush & co or change the hearts and minds of those on the over side. certainly that EMPOWERMENT was achieved yesterday.

it seems that the BIG THREAD was people who only watched the c-span coverage. (though some marchers eventually chimed in)

I too watched the repeat when I got back home.

it was MUCH different being there. you get no sense of the crowd energy. the 'fringe' speakers got much less response than those that stayed on message.

and the SHOUTING didn't seem like shouting to me (and I was in the very FRONT of the crowd under the speaker's platform.

as i said in other threads, maybe you had to be there.

the energy was great, especially in the march itself.

(the MASSIVE police presence was kinda creepy though. way over the top considering how PEACEful the crowd was....

I was in the front too (sitting 2 feet from nostamj), and his assessment of the day was correct.

When the crowds on the march saw the massive Code Pink pinkslip hanging from the 10th floor of that building, the cheers were louder than I've heard in years.
