Democrats Take Over Part of Bush's Duties

It was a banner week for Democratic fratricide.

With their main opponent, President Bush, away in Asia and Australia last week, prominent Democrats took over part of his duties by becoming their own worst enemies. Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (Del.), the ranking Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee, said the Democratic presidential candidates -- such as fellow Sens. John F. Kerry (Mass.) and John Edwards (N.C.) -- who voted to authorize force in Iraq but now oppose the Iraq spending package lack "a coherent policy."

Also last week, it was reported that former Clinton Cabinet secretary Andrew M. Cuomo, in an essay appearing in a new book, said his fellow partisans appear "bloodless, soulless and clueless" to voters and "fumbled" their response to terrorism. Not to be outdone -- and he seldom is -- Sen. Zell Miller (D-Ga.) is publishing a book describing the current crop of Democratic presidential candidates as "streetwalkers in skimpy halters and hot pants plying their age-old trade for the fat wallets on K Street."

He of the egregious tax cuts, odes to pick up trucks, and my personal favorite, eliminating whistle blower protection for the Homeland Security employees (to stick it to unions). 8. Agreed. Miller is an unrepentant Dixiecrat. What the hell is with Biden?

Is his idea of so called "coherent foreign policy" a warm hearty embrace
of PNAC? All those years on the foreign relations committee have evidently taught him nothing.
His "critique," such that it is sounds like an RNC press release. Perhaps he has signed on as a
Bush campaign consultant.

Methinks his ego may have grown so large that it is interfering with prper electrical flow across the synapes. (Either that or it is the hair plugs) Joe is undoubtedly still steamed that when he tested the Presidential waters he found them most uninviting. He was shocked to find that he was but a mere legend in his own mind. His bruised ego has apparently driven him to conclude that since he cannot be a contender the next best thing is to hurl derision and drag down those who have exhibited the temerity and fortitude to challenge Junior. Either that or he has been promised a seat on the board of Carlyle.
