Some positive coverage of yesterday's D.C. rally

Today's Washington Post newspaper provided a front page photo (small, but front page nevertheless) of the march, along with an in-depth story in the main ("A") section. Additionally, there was a story in the "Style" section re: military families at the march. Both focused on the march itself, and when mention was made of the rally it had to do with Sharpton's remarks. No mention was made of fringe politics, which is fine. Despite how you feel about it, the Post is a mainstream paper read by many, and their accounting of yesterday's events (especially the military families article) will go over well with many Americans still trying to sort their feelings out.

Oh, the Freeps got mentioned, too - 50(!) of 'em showed up for their rally, per the Post. I never saw them - did anyone???

1. Freeps at the march

Wasn't there, but heard "coverage" on WTOP. Heard that they were yelling at the marchers, ugly, idiotic crap like "Commie, go home," and that the marchers were yelling back, "I am home!"

"Commie?" What, is Joe McCarthy alive & well in 21st Century American politics? That shit was fifty years ago. Because we avail ourselves of our right to criticize our government, we're suddenly Communists?

8. Without Rush...they're lost
I think he would have instructed more dittoheads to disrupt if he had been let out of the zoo.

We passed them on the march...there were 15 of them (I counted them), and there were 25 cops protecting them. Maybe they counted the horses some of the cops were on too!

At least 500 people stopped and chanted "sheep! sheep! sheep!" at them while I was passing.

5. I forget who it was that joked that they were more cops on horseback
then those religious wackos they were protecting. Towards the end when I got seperated and was walking around town, I saw people having one on one talks with those guys. I didnt talk to em.

6. Jeff, is THAT who they were??

The goofs kind of sitting on a small hill as we turned a corner?

If so, I stand corrected - I enjoyed myself immensely making the universal "you're nuts" symbol (gyrating finger pointing towards ear) at them. I never saw any FR signs or anything, but that could be due to their creative use of the English language.
