Mississippi Gov's race: Poll shows Barbour with lead

Mississippi DUers: Please do what you can to get out the vote for Ronnie Musgrove on November 4. I don't live in Mississippi (I'm next door in LA) but IMO the last thing Missisissippi needs is shrub crony Haley Barbour as their new Governor <shiver>. And the last thing the Dems need is to hand a Southern Governor's race to shrub and company.

Republican gubernatorial challenger Haley Barbour is holding a slim lead over incumbent Democratic Gov. Ronnie Musgrove, and both campaigns face woes that won't be easy to overcome in the nine days remaining before the Nov. 4 election.

A Clarion-Ledger/Associated Press poll shows Barbour with 50 percent to 45 percent for Musgrove, including those who say they're leaning toward candidates.

The race becomes a statistical dead heat when the poll's 4-percent margin of error is considered.
