Howard Dean: pragmatic and humanitarian
Here are some great Dean quotes...

http://fundforahealthyamerica.com/Quotes.asp

"This equal emphasis on creating jobs, balancing budgets and expanding government's social activism sums up Dean's approach to the office he has held longer than anyone in this century. A decade later, it's hard to think of another politician who could have handled the job so successfully for so long." The Burlington Free Press (VT) - August 13, 2001

"In his decade in office, Dean has shone most brightly when he fought for children's programs. His efforts guaranteed health care for virtually every child in need, doubled spending on child care and helped create Success by Six, a program that helps preschoolers and their families. That's vintage Howard Dean: pragmatic and humanitarian." The Burlington Free Press (VT) - September 9, 2001

"It is doubtful that (the next governor) will leave office with a better record of having so well attended to the basic health of Vermont than Howard Dean." The Valley News (NH) - September, 2001

Take some time to look at Deans accomplishments here.

Education. "Like other leading states, Vermont adopted high standards testing which has resulted in significant improvement in school accountability. Unlike other leading states, however, Vermont has adopted a system of sharing educational dollars across the state, so schools in poor communities have the same financial backing as those in wealthy communities."

2. He had a great progressive legislature for much of that time.
They were able to do good things on some issues.

10. Hey did you all see this...
"Fund for a Healthy America was founded by Vermont Governor Howard Dean, M.D. to support the principles of fiscal stability, universal health insurance, better environmental protection, and equality for all Americans. The fund will also assist candidates who are supportive of these issues."

Wow, Dean is supporting other candidates that are supportive of the issues noted above.

He Rocks!
