The story about our returning soldiers is not being told (revised)
Last night Jesse was on FOX discussing the Shoshauna vs Jessica issue and to his crdedit he would not be baited by the interviewer into making this a racial issue alone...in fact, I don't think he ever used the word race. But his statements were most important and DUers should give him credit for putting the real issues out in front and I give FOX credit for even allowing Jesse on the show because I have not seen any other media outlet address these issues. In summary, Jesse was able to plead the cause of all of our men and women who are returning wounded from Iraq and for those 14 military suicides. We need to be all over the media--who Jesse soundly criticized over the Jessica Lynch lying fiasco--for not telling the story about the dead and wounded returning home. Here are the points Jesse made as I recall:

Jessica Lynch is not to blame for the lies about her rescue.

She and Shoshauna are friends.

It wasn't Jessica who fabricated the story about her rescue, it was the MEDIA. They wanted so badly to have a war hero (by inference to pump up the Bush regime)

No one is talking about the dead bodies coming back--no pictures from Dover. If the media is being blacked out from Dover they need to raise the issue with the public.

No one is talking about the thousands of wounded returning from Iraq and the shaby treatment and care theay are receiving once back home. Jesse mentioned that wounded soldiers returning to Dover have to pay their own way to their homes.

Some wounded have not even had their first real medical visit.

There were 14 suicides by our soldiers in Iraq..why?

The real story about Iraq is still not getting out.

Much of the blame for all of this lies squarely with the Bush regime and the MEDIA!

1. Dear Media: Please just tell the truth
It has a proved track record. It works. And it makes things a whole lot simpler in the end.

6. I live really close to her and
haven't observed her capitalizing on the propaganda. Her family is friends with my office-mate and according to her, they are doing what they can to control the media information by cooperating when possible.

3. OT - Fox: Are they in the process of swinging left?
Ya know, I LOATHE Faux. "We distort; you deride."

But, while I was trolling FR (yeah, I shower afterwards), I noticed that the Freepers are talking about their dear beloved Faux news as swinging left.....they are so upset....hmmm

4. The "truth" means swinging left to them.
The "truth" also means being unpatriotic.

5. This line has been used in respect to religion in the Constitution
"that to be fair to all, there could be preference to none"

The Republicans have screamed the loudest the last few years that the media have been biased towards the "liberal" view. Anyone who lived through the 2000 election cycle would, if they had a propensity towards honesty, have to disagree because of the obvious bias towards Bush (God help me even now I cannot see why.) The Republicans have used that assault on the media to their benefit ever since. I don't blame the Republicans for that, I do blame the Democratic leadership for letting them get away with it. Why anyone in the Democratic party steps foot on any Fox news show is beyond me. I applaud Jackson for pointing out the obvious? (but I don't need him to tell me anything, Ialready knew it).
