she-bear and i have yet to donate to a candidate because we want to have at least 2000 ready to donate in the general. we don't have a lot of extra money and that plan may go awry if out transmission doesn't hold together for another year but we did just give something to Al.

we love his passion? do you?

That said, I couldn't be happier that Al and Carol ARE in the race. Many, many voters will remember Al's zingers at Bush. And many people will recognize that the Dem party IS the Big Tent that allowed he and she to participate.

Now... if we could just get Lieberman to give it up...

I gave to Al when he said the "I" word on Foxnews. I'm committed to my candidate now and the DNC, but I definitely think giving to Al, Dennis or Carol is a good idea if you want their voice to stay in this thing.

9. I think he's the only candidate who thinks he has nothing to lose

and that makes him a powerhouse when it comes to stumping against the misadministration. I love to hear Al speak. I wish he was viewed as a more credible candidate. I want him to stick around as long as he can afford to, just to keep the other candidates from sliding too far to the right. He's a wonderful foil to the other candidates as well as the pukes and a shameless promoter of Dem values.

19. Can you elaborate?

I did a quick google of TB and the story and it's pretty much as I remember it. TB made up the story BEFORE Al(and others) became involved when they believed her story and thought they could do something about a pending miscarriage of justice. So in the end it leaves me with the impression Al came to help a 15 year old girl whom he believed, and many others did, was brutally treated. Al definitely sensationalized the case, but what course of action would you do if you BELIEVED an injustice on that scale was being neglected? In the end the apparent hoax did damage Al's credibility, but if you are going to take one episode out of a person's career and broadly paint them with that tiny brush, who will you have to vote for?

- Some people just don't like those 'uppity' Blacks. Others don't want to see any kind of strong leadership in the Black community.

- Sharpton is an activist. They don't get attention by asking pretty please to a media that has no interest in race relations.

for telling lies and sucking in some well meaning folks because what she claimed happened is an all too common ocurrance.Black women have been subjected to such rapes for generation upon generation you know.
Brawley, now 25 and called Maryam Muhammad, continues to insist that her charges are true.

11. Sharpton Really Turned Me Off

with the Tawana Brawley thing as well as some other stuff back in that era. I felt he was a self-promoter with nothing to recommend him.

Listening to him in the debates, though, I have forgiven him. I still don't think he'd make the best president, but his outbursts energize me and send me into gales of laughter. You've got to hand it to him.

Like his comment on AS:

"Arnold got elected governor of California 'cause he was the action man in the movies.
I'VE been the action man in the MOVEMENT, and I don't need nobody else to do my stunts for me."

right Christians was great.

I loved that he got a standing ovation last night.

I love Detroit audiences. They are rowdy. I could tell the candidates and reporters were loving it too.

A good debate. I thought Kerry did well last night. I loved Carol too. She needs to be part of the next administration. Gep is pretty good. Both Edwards and Holy Joe did good. Dean made no new impression on me. He neither hurt or helped himself. Dennis has the passion we need. Clark never blinks when he talks. That gives him the deer in the headlights look.

The second tier candidates add so much to the debate. They know they cannot win, so they are there in hope of getting a delegate or two so they can influence the course of the party. good for them.

Al has gotten people to watch the debates just to see what he has to say. I think that is a win win situation for the Dems.

18. Sharpton and Kucinich are like the conscience of the party..

They are the best expression of those who believe this party should stand with the workers, the downtrodden, the disadvantaged, the uninsured--the people who work hard and play by the rules and get little to show for it. Thses guys have the passion and indignation that Wellstone had.

And it grieves me that they are not considered electable.
