Why was Wolfowitz there?
"Preemptive Paul" Wolfowitz baffles me. According to the New York Times, they had "specific intelligence" that the hotel he was in was going to be attacked. Why didn't he run away like the little chickenhawk he is?

As a matter of fact, why's he there to begin with? We don't see D.Rum or Cheney, the de facto co-Presidents, parading through Baghdad. He has created this deep reservoir of hatred for America in the whole Muslim world with his flacking for Ariel Sharon and this illegal, unjust war on the Iraqi people. Does he not know that he's a prime target for the Iraqi insurgency? Or does he think that the 'security' police state in occupied Iraq can protect him when it can't protect our soldiers?

Wolfie has the oil, the power, and the blood just staying in Washington. What's going through his mind that he's walking into the middle of millions of people whose loved ones are dead because of him?

1. His mission was to show how "happy, happy" everything was....
but I guess the Iraqi opposition threw a little "crimp" into that.

2. It's the big PR blitz
that this administration is pushing. I'm hoping that their everything-is-going-okay campaign is an indication that this administration is starting to feel the heat.

3. Yes, but what I don't get..
...is that he had to know he'd be a target, and that he could easily get killed. How does he figure that his lies are worth dying for?

5. I don't think he had a clue
that he'd be a target. I think perhaps he is so entrenched in the lies spewed about how "well" things are going, he actually believes it. He thought he'd waltz in, shake a few hands, and then come back to say how grand everything was.

4. He was there to portray how good things are happening in Iraq,
instead he nearly got his ass blown up.

6. You can't mean...
...that he really believes that the Iraqis are "liberated" and we're there to help them gain "freedom" and "democracy".

That's the sort of theng Nobel Peace laureates do, not neo-con warmongers. I can't believe it of someone like him.

Nice job.
