From now until the election, the Dems have to show America that they still have those two things (sorry, Carol Moseley-Braun) that they appear to have lost ever since the ClintonCare program hit the skids.
And the only two candidates to seem to have found their pair are Howard and Al. I'm not suggesting they run together; Al, for all his colorfulness and bravado, is too polarizing. But you gotta love the truth and passion he brings to what might be an otherwise b-o-r-i-n-g night.
HERE IS HOW IT WILL GO DOWN: Dean coasts through the primaries as the other candidates fumble around and drop out, probably in reverse order of how much money they've raised. Clark, who waited far too long to become a viable candidate on his own, is selected as Dean's running mate to comfort those "morans" who still buy into the myth of Republican superiority on defense/foreign policy/terrorism.
This is not speculation. This is not "flame bait". This is the way it will happen, and I think we all know it from the bottom of our Kucinich bumperstickers. We should start preparing for it now rather than later.
