Letter From Air National Guard Maj. Gregory Stone

Sunday, April 27, 2003; Page A19

Air National Guard

Maj. Gregory Stone

Hey Princess!!!

You should feel relief. Good always defeats evil. I'm confident we will roll through Iraq in the face of tens of thousands of people filled with glee over being freed from oppression. We will make short work of Saddam, then you and I will take a vacation somewhere wonderful where I will hold you close with my hands properly positioned. Everything is falling in line and happening for a reason, just like you always said it would. This is my great challenge and I'm facing it happily because it is making me feel cleansed somehow. I will emerge on the other side ready to take you in my arms and begin living life the way it should be lived. I was worried and scared before, but now I feel nothing but confidence and strength coming from the support you are giving me. ..... Look for me in the news, there have been a bazillion reporters here. The CBS guy gave me a hat that I'm going to give to you when I get home. I'm getting videoed and photographed to pieces. I'm hoping you will see some of these images so you can have a warm fuzzy that Im okay

Love,
Gregg

Stone, 40, of Boise, Idaho, died of injuries sustained in a March 22 grenade attack on a tent in Camp Pennsylvania, Kuwait. A U.S. soldier was charged.

Letter From Army Sgt. Donald Ralph Walters

Sunday, April 27, 2003; Page A19

Army Sgt. Donald

Ralph Walters

Hi sweetie, how are you and Amber? I am doing well, all considered. The day has come that I pray for to be worked out diplomatically, but it doesn't look like peace is an option. ..... If for some reason I can't make it back, always remember I chose you over all others to spend the rest of my life with. You and Amber Rose are the center of my world. I never thought in all my life that my first year of marriage would be spent away from the woman I love. It just seems like I always have to make so many sacrifices. But they are all worth it. I will tell you that I'm tired of dealing with Iraq. I should have never had to come over here a second time. But if it means making the world a safer place for my wife and daughter, well, it's worth it .

Your husband,

Don

Love you truly

Walters, 33, of Kansas City, Mo., was killed March 23 in an ambush after becoming separated from a supply convoy in Nasiriyah.

17. Visions of fishing back home

Letter From Army Staff Sgt. Lincoln D. Hollinsaid

Sunday, April 27, 2003; Page A18

Army Staff Sgt.

Lincoln D. Hollinsaid

There is something to be said about sandstorms, they can put you on the edge. Can't see, can't breath, sand gets everywhere. It sure does piss off my boys, I try to remind them it's all for the story and the glory, but that only goes so far. ..... I still ain't heard from Adam & Kim, tell them I am going to start sending them threat mail if they don't write. I wish my truck and boat knew how to write, I sure do miss them. Today would be a beautiful fishing day; I can see it now, drop my electronic anchors, kick my feet up on a fully stocked & iced beer chest, good cigar in my mouth, and 3 poles out with hooks in search for that elusive yet lovable catfish. ..... Well, Pop, not much else to say on paper

Lincoln

P.S. Would someone start this damn war!

Hollinsaid, 27, of Malden, Ill., was killed April 7 when a crane he was driving was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.

2. Too sad for words
For a joke, Staff Sgt. Lincoln Hollinsaid's mother wrote a letter to her son's commanding officer: "Please excuse Linc from the army as his mom needs him home. Signed, Mom." Hollinsaid, 27, replied to her, "Cute note. I will be sure to show that to top (first sergeant). I will be on the first plane back. Yeah right."

Soon after he wrote that, his vehicle was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.

After he died, one last letter arrived.

"Ma," he wrote. "When I come back home, we will have to have another campfire in the garden, but twice as big, with pizza, lots of greasy pizza. Oh lord, I can smell it now."

3. Nothing good will come from this "invasion-Occupation"
Nothing. These kids have died for nothing. They are lambs to the slaughter for wealthy corporate bastards who own the White House.
This isnt a war, its a Fraud, always has been.
Nothing good, and the only terrorist that killed these kids is sitting, illegally, in the White House.

Edited on Tue Oct-28-03 06:03 PM by Mari333
and have to keep vigilant..not one more child or person should die for that son of a bitch and his friends sitting in the White House. Not ONE.
I have never hated anyone in my life, until these bastards came along and took away our country, our kids, and our democracy.
Yes, ma'am and sir, I hate the Bush Empire, and I hate everyone of the bastards who support them.
edit to add: as Hunter S Thompson so eloquently said:
'ID LIKE TO RIP THE HEADS OFF THOSE NAZIS IN THE WHITE HOUSE AND SHIT DOWN THEIR NECKS'
and in that, Hunter and I agree.

Hello, how are you guys doing? I am good, we are sitting 15 miles from Iraq, we look to be leaving in 48 hours. I really miss you guys. Hey, if someone says anything bad, just tell them your one and only son is fighting so they can pay less for gas and sleep better at night because there is less terrorism in the world. Ohhra!.....

Miss ya, love ya,

Christian

Semper fi.

Gurtner, 19, of Ohio City, Ohio, was killed April 2 by a noncombat weapons discharge in southern Iraq.

9. I'm so MAD and crying when I think of all these young people dying for
no reason other than the fact that the smirking moron and his pathological buddies wanted a war for their own reasons....It is so horribly sad and pointless....Nothing will be gained...You just want to yell out in frustration!....And now he's expecting my country (Canada) and others to send our young people to become a part of the shooting gallery....He's so disgusting!

20. send it all to Laura--every letter written by men now dead due to her
husband's lies, and let her read it to her murdering criminal husband before he goes to bed.

While the soldiers are being hunted down by snipers, she and George just saw fit to galavant over the world to luxurious, exotic places , accompanied by their entourage of hundreds of handmaidens and butlers, just like the kings of the middle ages,--she in her grossly overdone, near bizarre clothing--as the young soldiers were being caught in the crosshairs -- toasts of vintage wines were raised to the idiot king and his compliant, dullard of an upholstered frump, and she basked in the glory, smiling into the ancient halls at unseen persons. It can be his bedtime story read to him by his cherished lump as they reminiss over their recent trip to exotic places and all the people they met. It will be an amusement to read these letters and know the power they have over life and death.
