9/11 Commission stonewalled by Bush...
Won't release Presidents Daily Brief (PDB) to commission. Citing "national security". Sounds like CYA.

August 6, 2003.....ex-CIA Ray McGovern has stated on "Democracy Now" that Bush was told about Al-Qaeda flying planes into buildings soon.

Interesting how Condoleeza Rice (National Security Advisor) didn't know planes could be used in such fashion. A blatant lie.

Tar and feather these crooks.

2. Yeah, but he can release the name of a CIA agent
whose job it is to keep our nation secure from proliferated nuclear material.

Bush has some strange sense of national security.

3. Chimpy and Condi, pants on fire
Chimpy said today that he doesn't want to release the daily briefing notes, because then the people who give the briefings won't feel free to give briefings, because they will be afraid that their words will be politicized.
I think what he really meant to say is that, he doesn't want to release the briefings, because he thinks they will make him look like more of a fool, than getting suponeaed by members of his own party.

4. The results of this investigation should belong to the American people ...
and especially to the families of the victims of 9/11 - not to George W Bush. I simply do not see how he can credibly claim "executive privilege" in this manner....

6. Look at it this way:
The Karl Roves of this administration HAVE to be aware that even the slightest appearance of stonewalling the 9/11 investigation will cause a lot of political harm to *.

In addition, the "PDBs should remain secret" argument is ridiculous on its face: even if one accepts that declassifying relevant PDBs would hurt national security, there is no _theoretical_ chance that this harm would even compare to the harm of having another 9/11 happen, which is the ultimate stated purpose of the 9/11 investigation. This contradiction will cost yet more political points.

So, I have to conclude that the undeniable political cost of stonewalling the investigation, as great as it is, isn't as big as the cost of releasing the documents in question.

They're hiding something big.

9. Face -it looks bad for them
they want to delay until after the election.
It's the Saudi thing IMO.

Her's my theory: revealing the Saudi involvement and our knowlege of it, togther with active discouragement of lower investiagtors, guys like John O'Neill (http://www.rememberjohn.com)
and other whistleblowers, would bring down a shitstorm not only here but upon the Saudi regime, which is being propped up by the Bush family.....let alone lose the election.
