Captain Mike Recall Math and a Sacred Indian Tribal Chant!
OR alternate Captain Mike headline AHNOLD'S RECALL VOTERS = BUSH & LAY'S DUPES!

Maties,

While those of you out there who voted for the recall simply to reduce your car fees, or to voice your distaste for Gray Davis, you might wanna check this out. Greg (Captain Mike Doubters: "how do you know this guy has any credibility?") Palast posted a warning on his site and it was virtually ignored by all the media outlets who were too busy thinking they were covering the hard news of the recall erection, uh...I mean ELECTION, by concentrating on Ahnold The Gropensfuhrer.

Arnold Unplugged - It's hasta la vista to $9 billion if the Governator is selected
http://www.gregpalast.com/detail.cfm?artid=282&row=1

and

TOLD YA SO! Arnold to Settle Lawsuits for Pennies on the Dollar http://www.gregpalast.com/detail.cfm?artid=286&row=1

Oh, and BTW: Ahnold repeatedly LIED and LIED and LIED on TV AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN when he stated that California's Budget Deficit was 38 BILLION DOLLARS! Then CNN and all of Ahnold's fawning admirers in the American Media, in the Hitlerian tradition, repeated that lie often enough so it was accepted as the truth. California's Budget Deficit is EIGHT (8) BILLON DOLLARS, NOT 38 BILLION. Now add Cruz Bustamante's sure-thing lawsuit against the energy pirates which would have regained us in California, NINE BILLION DOLLARS.

So, do the math, and if Cruz Bustamante were to be sitting in the Governor's Mansion, we would have actually ended up being AHEAD by ONE BILLION DOLLARS.

BUT NO! "WE" (speak for yourself) Californian's were tricked into voting for Ahnold who said " I vill be a gubinah of de Pee-pull!" (as opposed to what? A governor of the FISHIES IN THE SEA?) The Republican Recall Swindle cost us 80 million dollars to enact. Then Ahnold took the office, and announced, (in keeping his SECRET promise to Ken Lay) that he will settle the energy lawsuits for pennies on the dollar.

Okay, SO: 3-time convicted car thief and self-arsonist, Republican Darryl Issa, at the bidding of the Bush White House, spends 2 MILLION DOLLARS of his own money to hire underlings to go around the state, gathering signatures, to trigger a recall election.

INITIAL REPUBLICAN INVESTMENT: $2,000,000

RECALL ELECTION GROSS PROFIT $9,000,000,000

REPUBLICAN AND ENERGY COMPANY NET PROFITS $8,998,000,000

STUPIDITY OF CALIFORNIANS = $8,998,000,000 GAIN FOR REPUBLICANS (and a priceless gaining of our 52 Electoral votes for Bush in the upcoming Ahnold-guaranteed, rigged 2004 California Primary)

Not bad for two months work, huh? Now, in the loss category:

INITIAL RECALL ELECTION COSTS TO STATE: $80,000,000

ACTUAL STATE BUDGET DEFICIT: $8,000,000,000

LOSS TO STATE BY AHNOLD "SETTLING" W/ENERGY COMPANIES: $9,000,000,000 (minus pennies on the dollar)

TOTAL LOSS TO STATE DUE TO RECALL ELECTION: $9,080,000,000 (minus pennies on dollar)

New "adjusted" BUDGET DEFICIT DUE TO STUPIDITY OF CALIFORNIANS = $17,080,000,000

SOMETHING TO RUMINATE ON WHILE CONSIDERING ALL THOSE LAID-OFF FIREFIGHTERS THAT COULD HAVE RESPONDED MORE QUICKLY, MORE EFFECTIVELY, AND IN GREATER NUMBERS TO THE INTIAL CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES IF THEY HADN'T BEEN LAID OFF DUE TO BUSH/CHENEY/ENRON'S RAPE OF THE STATE AND THE RECALL ELECTION'S IMMEDIATE DRAINING OF 80 MILLION DOLLLARS FROM OUR COFFERS:

PRICELESS!

Typical Republican strategy: have all of us rabble in the trenches nickel and diming each other over the small change, while they loot the Treasury and make off with BILLIONS!

All of you who proudly voted to recall Gray Davis, go the mirror now, place your right hand on your heart, and raise your left hand, and recite the Secret California Recall Pledge (it's an old sacred tribal Indian chant!):

AYAMSAH CHATOH TALLFAH KINGMORE AHN!!!

Again, say it three times quickly!

Yes, well deserved!

Oh, in related news, Greg "does this guy have any credibility?" Palast just WON YET ANOTHER PROJECT CENSORED AWARD! http://www.gregpalast.com/

Captain Mike

“Greg Palast is investigative journalism at its best.  No one has exposed more truth about the Bush Cartel and lived to tell the story.”  Baltimore Chronicle

MICHAEL MOORE CALLS HIS REPORTING FOR BBC TELEVISION 'COURAGEOUS.' AND IN ENGLAND, TRIBUNE MAGAZINE CALLS HIM, " THE MOST IMPORTANT INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER OF OUR TIME."GREG PALAST IS THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOK, THE BEST DEMOCRACY MONEY CAN BUY - SIX MONTHS ON THE NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER LIST

… Award-winning reporter for BBC Television’s Newsnight and The Observer of London, Greg Palast’s extraordinary reports have been front page news in Europe, yet blocked out of America’s main stream media.  “To Americans who cannot read his stories printed in Britain’s Observer, he is America’s journalist hero of the Internet.”  Alan Colmes, Fox Television

"His stories about Bush's election theft, about intelligence agency cover - ups, and globalization - backed up with smoking gun documents, inside sources and on - the - record interviews - will shock even the most informed readers."  Guerrilla News Network, naming Palast ‘Reporter of the Year.’

Palast won Britain’s highest journalism honors for his 1998 undercover investigation of influence peddling within Tony Blair’s cabinet – by Enron and other US corporations.  He then turned his sleuthing skills on to the Bush money trail: uncovering for BBC and The Observer the uncomfortable truths of how the Bush Administration quashed investigations of Saudi financing of terror -- and Poppy Bush’s extraordinary methods for stuffing his bank account and his son’s campaign coffers.

1. Palast is fantastic
I wish he worked for the New York Times, or CNN instead of the BBC.

BTW, are Captain Mike and CaptainMidnight the same person? If so, were you on any CBS soap operas? My mother would like to know. :)

5. Sacred Indian Tribal Chant?

I know that is supposed to be funny... but frankly it's not. It's just offensive. It's mocking Native American religion, and is reminiscent of all that Indian mascot bullshit. Get that crap out of DU.

7. If you don't want attention diverted from the "Central" issue,
why did you put in that derogatory stuff in the first place? It is a distraction, I agree-- and it IS offensive. I still think you should take it off your post and apologize.

10. gee have we diverted from my main point?
Keep it up,

I guess not enough Republicans have been running roughshod over us. So let's keep arguing with each other over word choice!
