I guess I'll be the one to let you know that the moe here means that Clark could have as little as 12%, and Lieberman/Dean as much at 18%.

"Clark, the newcomer, has jumped right to the head of the pack, with 17 percent of Democratic voters. Lieberman and Dean are tied at 13 percent each, with Gephardt at 12 percent and Kerry at 10 percent. Undecided ties Clark with 17 percent."

From October 23 - 27, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,262 registered voters nationwide, with a margin of error of +/- 2.8 percent. The survey includes 403 Democrats with a margin of error of +/- 4.9 percent.

8. What this really shows....and I'm excited about

Is that we have an extremely strong Democratic field. So our First Shrublady's snide comment about our field was a sorry bunch means that her shrub in chief can be ousted by a sorry field.

5. Good News for all

They are all closing in on Bush and Dean has made remarkable strides in this poll--only six-points behind Bush. As for who leads the democratic pack there is no clear leader in any national poll. Dean leads narrowly in Zogby and the latest Gallup poll and Clark leads narrowly in this poll. I'd say nationally it could be preceived as anybody's ballgame--even Lieberman's. But if you look at polls in key early caucus/primary states it tells a somewhat different story than the national polls.

the Rove machine. I'd expect Dean's numbers to go up. God knows the corporate press is doing enough cheerleading for him.

10. I Would Exclude Lieberman...

His trend is downwards.

He was polling at 40% in January.... He's down to 12% now....

He's going in the wrong direction....

This is essentially a five man race and as an analyst and not an advocate I'd give the nod to Dean but it wouldn't suprise me if Gep, Kerry, Edwards, or Clark won the nomination....

19. These polls mean little unless we find Bush under 50%

Many of my friends are beginning to say that they expect Bush to pull some dirty trick to win the election. Here in Indiana we already had problems with a GOP-designed ballot that is going to be used this November. I don't think we are alone.
