I sure wouldn't want to read anything that disagreed with my political beliefs either. Best to just shut out all information that disagrees with what I already think.
Come on, let's not delude ourselves into thinking that Saddam Hussein was a good ruler. He was a monster. THere are certainly places that are doing better off now than before he took over. While I deplore how we got in this war, and the lies that President Bush and his staff seem to constantly tell, still it's probably better for the Iraqi people that Saddam not be in charge anymore.
There are two tracks we need to follow--one is making sure the American people understand how decietful this administration was in leading us to this war and how their ideological blinders and their economic ties to haliburton (and others) make them untrustworthy stewards of American foreign policy. The second task is that we need to ensure that Iraq is able to rebuild as a free society free of Saddam's and our own power. Obviously this is not a situation we would have chosen, but it is one we find ourselves in.
