NewsMax hooey? The "unnamed GI"
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2003/10/29/03207.shtml

"He's lost men because of the terrible reporting and it's just creating a terrible atmosphere," King said the Army colonel told him.

How does reporting get people killed? Maybe the stuff dumbass Geraldo was doing, drawing amap in the sand, but "bad" reporting?

C'mon..

<Soldier 1>: Wow, not so bad today, no bombings, not too hot, no sandstorms, I heard we might get a shower and a hot meal, today.

<soldier 2>: That damn LA Times is criticizing George Bush again! Now I'll be so distracted by a stateside newspaper badmothing Bush that I might miss a landmine or a sniper!

Limbacher and Ruddy have one braincell between the two of them, no wonder freeper idiots and assorted Republican assholes read that lie and disinformation mill.

2. News Max
"All the crap thats fit to print."

"Because you want your news with extra ideology."

"Because the truth just doesn't matter."

"Because we can make a buck selling lies to gullible morons."

"Because we care . . . about making a buck."

"Because the truth matters, but diamonds are a girls best friend."

We need some new Cliches

3. That second part is just crap
"now I am so distracted by criticism of Bush that I might miss a sniper or a landmine"

Ok, first, if bad press about the president distracts you that much, maybe you weren't cut out for this line of work...

And second... this would sound more appropriate as sarcasm. Very dark, cynical sarcasm, granted, but that is how I see things now.

Third... some names would be nice.

But you gotta love those quotes. FReepers will eat this shit up. They hit all the major "with us or against us" and "don't criticize" talking points.

4. I love the logic here ...
Why don't they report the good things? Becuase if it bleeds, it leads maybe?

I still laugh at the line: "People forget that Baghdad had no electricity and we had it quickly restored." Considering that we bombed the grids and knocked the power out, that's not much to brag about.
