I have been reading references to the "stovepiping" and the article by SH, but did not have the time to seek it out. Thanks for mentioning it again and now the link. Seems to me,in the end, after all of this complicated information, that someone was anxious to go to war as planned shortly after the first Gulf War and seize Iraq and all of it's spoils--and was doing everything possible to make it appear as if it is a justified invasion--manipulating behind the scenes--naturally, they could not go by the protocol of vetting the people and the intelligence information from people who were not in on their plan--working together as a "family" they simply shut them out and went full tilt ahead toward their goal. The one who forged the Niger documents, and the one who contacted the Italien journalist, remains a mystery--I deeply suspect Cheney is involved and it was one of Cheney's sycophants--somehow connected to the crook Chalabi. My two cent guess. I am not sure that I buy it was the CIA doing it deliberately to embarrass Cheney. If it was, then the outing of Wilson's wife can be looked upon as a revenge to avenge the revenge of the CIA who resented Cheney's interference in the normal procedures.
