If Cheney is doesn't run with Bush--I'd bet Zell would

Lets say Cheney gets to be too much baggage or that his health becomes a factor and he drops out of the 2004 VP race. So Bush needs a replacement on the ticket. Someone who has supported him on the issues and is a proven vote getter. I would bet you $100 that Rove and company would try to get Zell to run with Bush. They would call it a Unity ticket even though 'ol Zell has been in Bush's hip pocket since day one. I see the word DINO applied to many in the democratic party--especially Lieberman, but Zell Miller makes Joe look like a flaming liberal.

If only Zell hadn't been appointed to the Senate in 1999--and a real democrat like Andrew Young or John Lewis had. Barnes blew it--he could have made a statement by appoining the first African-American from Georgia since reconstruction to the Senate and reaped the benefits of such a far-sighted move in 2002, but no he had to pick Zell.

Kick him out of the caucus--at this point who cares really if he joins the GOP?

4. I think Sen. Jefford's had it right

when he found he could no longer support Bush and the Republican agenda he became an Independent and caucused with the Democrats who he felt more at home with. Zell clearly doesn't support the Democratic agenda and supports Bush. I feel he should be intellectually honest then and either become and Independent and vote with the GOP caucus or a outright Republican.

Jeffords was a progressive who saw nothing good in this administration and Miller wants to turn back the clock of progress so yes, he should leave!

Edit: Joe Lieberman is not that bad! He is a moderate on social issues and is a big supporter of labor issues unlike Miller who thinks that it's just swell if meat factory workers get their hand cut off!
