2. There's dissent and there's betrayal...
He should do the honourable thing and go independent. (So should Chafee, though betraying bad policies isn't a completely bad thing...)

9. Zell isn't trying to put the party together. He's trying to tear it apart.
Remember that Zell probably single handedly gave the GOP a majority in Georgia for the first time in over 100 years by his running around Georgia attacking Democrats.

13. What planet are you living on?
Miller criticized Cynthia McKinney. Big deal. Even her own constituents didn't want her anymore. I fail to see how this makes Miller single handedly responsible for the loss of the governorship and the senate seat.

And in case you've forgotten, Zell Miller endorsed Max Cleland and was even featured in one of Cleland's television ads.

I don't agree with most of the positions Miller has taken since arriving in Washington. But I think it's ridiculous to blame Miller for the losses in the 2002 election. Get a grip.

12. How does that
Edited on Wed Oct-29-03 09:32 PM by candy331
make him a hero to bring out the faults of his party? What has he done to help? Anyone one can criticize. If the party is so bad tell me why he is still claiming to be a democrat?, Seems awful hypocritical and cowardly to me to tear your own house down and then blame others. I feel that if there is a problem and you can't be part of the solution then get the hell out of the way and quit hindering others. A traitor in sheep's clothing is still a traitor.Whatever his motives are they are circumspect and I suppose in time they will be revealed so we'll just wait and see.

7. It used to be
if a fella wanted to endorse the other party's candidate in an election he would just switch partys. I mean, you can support the other party on some issues here and there, but if you don't support the candidate of your party in an election, what's the point in being in the party?

8. So here's what steams me about the whole thing...
We don't even have a nominee yet! With the field ranging as wide as our current crop of democratic hopefuls, Zell can't find anyone inside the party to support? Well, if he can't find anyone he likes on the inside, I hope he likes it on the outside, because he should be shown the door asap...
