I have been thinking about a motto for the Democrats

Bush just came up with a theme for his campaign. It is:

"the world is more peaceful and more free under my leadership"

Anyhow, on to more important things, what should be the motto for the Democrats?

Howabout,

"Justice for all"

I hope that is not too corny.

Also, whoever gets the nomination should start something where he/she receives one liners or paragraphs from Democrats across the nation and incorporate them into his/her speech. Like, I already thought of one:

"I want to live in a world where peace is not a hope, but a reality"

2. How about this.

I think a clever series of advertisements would be a play on the motto "Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" For example, picture an advertisement like this:

Images of brokers tearing their hair out at the NYSE. People waiting for unemployment. Destitute families. Homelessness. Poverty. And this slogan:

"Are you any more irrationally exuberant than you were 4 years ago?"

Or this one. John Ashcroft. Pat Robertson. Jerry Falwell. The PATRIOT ACT. The cages in Guantanamo Bay. The government reading your e-mail. Americans being "diappeared." Then this appears:

"Are you any more free than you were 4 years ago?"

And the grand finale: A series of images is shown. Dead American soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. The suicide bombings of the Red Cross and UN Buildings in Iraq. Mourning families. The suspicious deaths of Mel Carnahan and Paul Wellstone. Finally, the planes crashing into the WTC, follwed by the phrase:

"Are you more alive than you were 4 years ago?"

The population has been so completely saturated by GOP propaganda that these issues are no longer considered important. All that matters now is ideological purity and blind obedience.

"Are you better off than you were four years ago?"

If Edwards wins the nomination, I bet he will use this line. I heard him use it before at a debate, it's a nice turn-around to use it against Bush.

13. Most Republicans will answer with a resounding yes

Remember they don't care about blacks or lower middle class or Especially Democrats or Liberals. They have control of the Whitehouse and Congress and the Supreme Court so Yes they are Demonstrably better off as Republicans. Also remember that Republicanism comes before being an American. Most Americans don't vote or answer polls or participate in any manner in Government so it's down to only those that do and Republicans far out weigh those in participation. That is our biggest failing. We are not able to get people to care. They feel everything is so far out of their hands that they don't even need to bother. I am beginning to find the wisdom in that feeling myself.

It's from the military, meaning to acheive loyalty up the chain of command (real loyalty, not just respecting the rank and its power), you have to demonstrate loyalty down the chain of command.
The idealized example is the officer who sees that his troops' needs are covered before tending to his own. The overarching philosophy is that "we" are part of a larger whole (or should I say, E pluribus unum), and that whole operates best when those in a superior position take responsibility to ensure the well-being of those in lesser positions.

When's the last time you saw a corporation show "loyalty down", eh?
