Anyone see the CBC documentary on "the facts behind the myths" of 9/11?
Just wondering how it came across. Below is a link to the CBC site summarizing the program's areas of focus. Includes information on the speculation, the Saudi connection, the intelligence breakdown, the congressional report, as well as links to a number of 9/11 related sites. CBC repeats are scheduled for November 4th and 5th.

I suppose it's silly to ask if any US media outlets have announced plans to rebroadcast this.

http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/conspiracytheories/index.html

In a special season premiere investigation the fifth estate's Bob McKeown finds that even the most outlandish conspiracy theory may have its basis in a legitimate question.

In the course of separating fact from fiction, Bob delves into the labyrinthine and surprising ties between the Bushes and the Bin Ladens.

What he finds out may startle you as much as any conspiracy theory.

1. Anyone have any info on CBC's reputation?
I couldn't watch the documentary, don't have cable. I sent the link to BuzzFlash, hoping they would post it. As of this morning, it isn't posted yet. The web site looks extraordinary. Does anyone know if CBC is of the same calibre as, say, 60 minutes?

3. Absolutely.
Very fine journalists there. Extremely high caliber. Their network is modeled somewhat on the BBC.I watch their news from time to time and it's very good.

11. In many ways the CBC are the BBC
They were started by the same group of people. I hold each in highest esteem.

6. Fifth Estate and the CBC have excellent reputations for investigative
reporting. Fifth Estate is much like 60 minutes, it doesn't deal in fluff. If you visit their site, you can see the sort of issues they cover.

10. Were you watching the main network, Newsworld or Newsworld Int.?
It was broadcast last night on the main network. It'll be rebroadcast later on Newsworld, and I don't think Newsworld International carries The Fifth Estate.

13. It was better than the nothing we get in the US.
They missed some things, but, they fit it into one hour.

Spent half the time going over the Bush-Saudi connections, and associated actions surrounding 9/11. I thought it too much time. They made their point and could have used the time incorporating a wider range of details.

Skipped the three French books, just spoke of the one far-out book.

No put options.

MADE ME MAD, when they said we (I take that as CLINTON) did not want to hear. The INTELLIGENCE forces did not want to hear, CBC omits that Clinton froze OSL funds and ordered OSL watched for an eventual rocket to kill him dead, and did even more.

The reporting was excellent. Didn't think I was being manipulated by a left-winger NOR a right-winger. Remarkably even-toned. Remarkably.

18. they could easily have gone for 2 hours ...
Unfortunately, the CBC (especially 5th Estate) is more into the short doc format. Too bad, because as DUers know, there is so much they could have put in!

That show has been going for awhile now. I remember watching it in the 1980s. They have a pretty good rep for archival/background research.

Anyone who hasn't seen it and can't get the video link to work, but really wants to watch -- I did tape it, and am willing to share provided the tape gets passed along to other DUers. (PM me.)
