It's official: Metro area's No. 1 when it comes to fun
Well it's true: The Minneapolis-St. Paul area ranks as the nation's "top fun city" on a list of 50.
That's because more Twin Citians spend their money on toys, games, sporting events and dining out, according to Cranium Inc., a Seattle game manufacturer, which came up with the list.
There was a ceremony Tuesday at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, with Mayor R.T. Rybak receiving the honors. The metro area won over such well-known places as California's Orange County (home to Disneyland) and Las Vegas.
Deciding factors included how much cities budget for recreation, and the number of sports teams, golf courses and toy stores.
