9. So what? Guns are a good thing. They should be allowed there.
Maybe this guy just wanted his gun to protect other people from violent criminals who might have snuck a gun in. Rather than prosecute this poor guy, they should count him as a hero.

I'm sure the NRA will back me on this.

I've never understood why concealed carry is permitted everywhere in Colorado except in the Legislature.

10. Lockdown at Cannon Office Building...
No sign of 'gunman' yet. Methodically going throught he building.

Coouple of things here: Security really sucks, and this guy will never see daylight again when caught, (although it was reported that a "take down" order was given, he may not see any light if they find out where he is).

:kick;

13. Surely there's enough
gun-toting NRA members of Congress around to smoke the guy. C'mon boys, time to show the public what an armed citizenry can do to stop crime!

15. If this is true it shows what good gun control is...
this just shows what a complete failure gun control is.

DC - ban on handguns.
armed security
metal detectors

and if this is true, an armed man still gets in. I know if I were in there, I would be much happier being armed, then required to be unarmed due to some backwards law.

Thank God I live in a state where law abiding civilians can own hand guns and carry them...after all, I am not a well connected politician with armed security guards and metal detectors where I work...criminals would have a field day out here.

Go ahead and bitch and moan about safety and the NRA and anything else you want...there is no more room for gun control in DC, they have everything already and it didn't work for shit.

17. Call your Congressman. Demand guns be allowed in the Capital.
Edited on Thu Oct-30-03 02:29 PM by denverbill
After all, Republicans hold both houses and the Presidency. I see no reason they have to hobble themselves by restricting their own ability to defend themselves by not allowing them to pack heat in Congress.

21. That would be fine with me...
one thing I like about a few CCW states, VA and PA for example, is that if you have a CCW you can carry inside the legislative buildings.

It is great that if the politicians pass a bill, that they are exposed to the same effects of the law as are the citizens.

22. Yeah, and cheney voted against the ban on plastic guns.
If he had his way, this plastic gun might shoot real bullets.
