Nervous About Shooter at Capitol
I've got a bad feeling about these people. From the sound of them (young white guy and woman) and their dress, I have a bad feeling that they might be perhaps associated with the left in some way. Protestors of some sort or something...

I hope not. Imagine the ammunition (pardon the pun) that would give the Bushbots! 'See,' they'll say, 'these people are all potential terrorists.'

Not that I know anything more than the rest of you. It just doesn't sound like al-Qaeda- and derranged people tend to operate alone. A rightist would probably just start shooting people if they meant it. This sounds like a very, very, very, every ill-concieved 'protest.'

1. If you're scared, then CNN is winning
That's why they're doing what they're doing.

3. I'm Not Scared That I'm Going to be Shot
I'm scared that some stupid person (people) has done something which could then be used to smear the left as a whole. Reading this fourm *(and other progressive sites) in recent weeks and months i've sensed a level of anger which could lead to something like this.

16. Nonsense!
All folks talk about around here is the election. Get it? The 2004 election. Who will we elect to replace the current administration.

Sure people are angry. But so were the Republicans. They were in white-hot meltdown for 8 years while Clinton's penis was in office. Erm, excuse me. I meant - when Clinton was in office. In fact, they spent millions trying to forklift him out of there.

So, just because people have disgust for Bush* lies and how he took the country to war, doesn't mean that we here in these DU forums ever gave any indication of what you're concluding.

Speaking for myself - I'm insulted. Are you just a troublemaker? If so, you better cut it out.

"This sounds like a very, very, very, every ill-concieved 'protest.'"

or a very ill concieved attempt to make it look like a protest.

" I have a bad feeling that they might be perhaps associated with the left in some way."

And golly, look who happens to be the first to associate them. Good job, Geraldo.

11. Just a Concern
Hell- has anyone here seen the BBC film 'To Play the King'- maybe this is a little bit of 'street theatre', just to send the right message and boost Bush's numbers by smearing the left.

5. Shooter?? WTF??
NO ONE said anything about a shooting. No one is even certain there is even a gun!!

And what makes you even begin to think the suspect is a "leftist?"

9. Well...
Just like I said. From what I've seen of Freepers and the rest, if one of them (or two) were going to bring a gun to Congress, I think that they'd just start shooting.

8. Well we don't know enough yetb
but if they are whacko from the left it is a certainty that Hannity will be calling them mainstream Democrats by dinner. He will use them as an example of what Democrats are willing to do to get their way.

If they are from a right wing militia that will be the last we hear of these “deranged” terrorists.

10. Exactly
If they're repugs, they'll be forgotten just like the Anthrax killer.

If they aren't... well, that's why I'm worried.

18. Report came over the local news station
that it may have been part of a Halloween costume.

WTF !

A lot of conflicting reports. I think a "shooter"
would have stated firing by now.

That's what it was...part of a costume. Security guard momentarily distracted, person left before guard noticed gun-like object.

young repugs pushed over the edge by the vitriol spewed by hate radio like Limbaugh, or hate TV like Hannity, Coulter, and Fox News in general.
